And just to add on what my friend said above. there was a survey conducting by PwC from that they concluded that IPR and business information leakage accounts for 32% and 68% of data loss and they have counted to 28% loss in business I suppose now you would agree with me that data loss cause loss even to businesses.

If you ask from my personal point of view I would say yes it is a loss. Companies like BPO services, Insurances all depend on the data base they are having it. Then definitely data loss affects them.

I agree to my friend regarding the loss of data but there is one thing that must be kept in my mind about updation of data and when there is data loss definitely after that new data is being updated. And this helps in capturing the real customer which change according to market and requirement.
