I would say a great idea if that happens many of the problems of this industry will be solved. Shares could float for a movie also and the money could be generated. It would be more beneficial for new comers who plan to start their movies. More talent could be seen coming up.

I would rather disagree with sucha kind of stand because its every time general public is loosing. If the movie does not do well at the box office then its general public who is having loss and if it does, though they would be earning dividends and all but again they would be going to the cinema halls to see it. So in every case its the general public who is at loss.

First of all one cannot list an Industry in any Stock Exchange unless you mean different companies in the Industry like different  production units, like Subash Ghai productions, Rajsree productions, RK productions etc; where the decision should come from the head of the production company. Public cannot make that decision. Private companies when they grow beyond certain size in terms of investments and sales territories do this. So if more investments are needed which cannot be privately handled or more risk need be shared in furthering the business then a production company can decide to go public meaning float shares and get  listed in a stock exchange like NSE or BSE.

Rohini, LOL, I am just replacing Movie with  'stock market' etc, see how perfectly it fits.

I would rather disagree with sucha kind of stand because its every time general public is loosing. If the company does not do well at the stock market then its general public who is having loss and if it does, though they would be earning dividends and all but again they would be going to buy the company products. So in every case its the general public who is at loss.
