According to me it's good as we will come to know the development and degradation part of each casts and we can decide whether to continue the demon of reservation or to completely put a full stop to it.

What's the use of such census which divides the society in a negative way. After the result we will see new leaders as representative of each caste who would promote caste based politics, states like Bihar Jharkhand Orissa Bengal and Chattisgarh would suffer the most

Caste-based census only benefits Politicians for playing caste-based vote-bank politics. In the growing economy, our younger generation is keen compete with the world. Inequity and disparities are nurtured just to maintain the divide to garner support unceasingly by the politicians, and in the name of upliftment of such class, large allocations are made to siphon off!

On the one hand, the constitution says 'Equality'. But the politicians act otherwise. They are promoting divisions in the society by doing all these unnecessary surveys. They will justify this for the caste based reservation.  I cannot think of any other purpose for which this census will be put to use.

If the intention is to use for this purpose, then this should be abandoned.  Reservation should be based on economic status and not based on the caste.  There are poor people in the so-called Open Caste and there are millions of rich people in the so-called backward and other so called SCs and STs.

I think this is the demand form several political parties the union govt has agreed to. This is first caste based census in 80 years at a whopping cost of 30 -40 billion rs. of taxpayers. A baseless survey for the sake of the politicians to cater their vote bank on the basis of caste and dividing India on the casteism. Infact the same data about caste can also be made available from the normal census survey where in they ask for all the personal as well as professional details of a citizen. So i urge govt to go back to their database and check for the information required and if still if they are lacking the necessary data they want I think it is a poor planning made by the census survey. I think during the survey they should keep all the inputs should be covered which can be helpful for now and in future.

So i dont think spending such a huge amount on a baseless need of the politicians is worth.
