Now, India's Postal Service has its own Twitter handle! This makes it the first Government of India enterprise to arrive on the popular social networking platform. The Twitter account will be used to post updates about various news concerning postal services - apart from addressing grievances of consumers. The profile was set up three months back and now, it has gathered momentum.

I think yes. This particular account of Indian postal service has managed to solve many a consumers grievances highlighting the fact that social networks could be effective costumer service medium as well. The Twitter account is also helpful for users who want to have queries regarding what and how they can send stuff. So I think this kind of initiative will be of great help to government organizations.

Really a great news to hear. Some time back there was a debate here about the importance of Post office and majority argued that POs are fading. By this type of initiatives from the authorities it will definitely chnge the face of it, if they are ready to address the concerns recieved through Twitter,

Also I hope if it can venture into a banking like institution, it would be able to overtake many a private banks, because of its presence in almost all rural areas
