Certainly they should. But before they go, they should do a complete background check of the university and the place so that the incidents of the type pointed out in the referral above are avoided. Other than the IITs, IIMs and a few other universities and colleges, we cannot boast of world class universities. Let our students go abroad, learn new things and be benefited.

yes, this is fact that compare to India, other country like USA ans Europe have better opportunity. there are student in India who need better platform to expose themselves.and the platform is not available at home country.that is why they are going to abroad.talking about risk(Australia)is every where and the number is very less. it does't mean that u have to sit in a corner to avoid risk.If you want to achieve something, you have to take some short of calculative risk.

Referring to the point raised by Mr. Kapil, the reason looks to be far behind behind the ground realities. How many Doctors, Engineers Management graduates going abroad for study comes back to serve Indians. The fact is studying abroad is a step towards settlement there. Govt. of India is also not offereing sufficient opportunities for the study. How many Doctors after doing MBBS are struggling for admission to MD/MS because of very few seats available. Govt. on the one side says shortage of doctors and the otherside there are no seats for MD/MS and hence the students are forced to go abroad for higher studies.

The world is a global village. Going abroad for studies should not be restricted. Better facilities, methodology, and infrastructure are available in international universities for our students in real term to experiment with. Here our Corporates (all verticals for that matter) give due weightage to those who have higher education (even Diploma) from foreign universities, whether they have it in them the real potential or not!

I think only for some special trainings or courses which are not available in our country, students can go abroad, but for general studies or engineering or medical and IT sector, we have best institutes available in house.

Young aspirants fail to make it to premiere institutions in India would obviously want to go abroad for studies. Its a natural phenomenon. Unless and until we get out of the reservation based on castes, etc., our students would continue to go abroad for getting better education available elsewhere, inspite of potential danger!

Yes as i believe its better to go abroad rather then here in india. Here we just copy paste rather then getting our basics clear and then switching to the needful.

Perhaps yes. There is no security abroad and nor is there any securty in our own country ( DU student shot dead in daylight).. Then what difference does it make wherever you are your life is at risk anyways. If you think going abroad and studying can give you better fortune it is no harm.

There are two sides to this - first of all those desirous of pursuing higher education abroad should be ready to face any situation that may arise. This is the same for those wanting to work abroad as well. There is nothing wrong in going abroad for your education as our indian insitutions still lack the R& D and advanced teaching facilities. Now the other side is that we face the consequences for our own decisions. Whatever you have mentioned above is not general but due to certain factors for which we ourselves are responsible. Radio tags are a feature only in the US which in my opinion is the worst country to go to. As for the incidents in australia, they are only the result of our own actions. So it is upto each one to decide on their career path. I see nothing wrong in going abroad to study but one must be ready for any eventuality.

Three decades back going abroad was to get quality Education. But,it is a status symbol now. Especially Green Card Holders fetch lumpsome dowry. Now India is competing with foreign countries, not only in Education, but in all spheres. The Statement given by President Obama is testimony for it. Recently Obama warned American Youth to be careful with three B's(Beizing,Bangalore and Brazil),who may outshine America soon. I will site two examples about Indian Talent and American'snegligence/ignorance here. In 1973,Hollywood Heroine Elizebeth Taylor suffered with stuckup chicken bone in her throat. She refused to get operated by an American Doctor, instead she prefered Indian Doctor, who successfully operated and removed the bone without causing any harm to her throat. And another example to show the negligence/ignorance of a corporate Doctor in America. In 80's Actress Sridevi's mother was moved to America and admitted in a Corporate Hospital to treat lung cancer. The Experienced Surgeon after taking all the tests removed perfect lung instead of affected lung. Sridevi leagally proceeded against the Hospital, since she lost her mother due to wrong surgery. I sited two notable example to say the fashion of degrading India is as wrong as praising Westren Talent.

Akash I agree with your point of view. Every one is of the opinion that getting a degree from foreign university will increase their chance either to get a job in the country they are studying or a good paying job in India which is a wrong notion, as far as I am concerned.

It should not requirement to go abroad, because so many thing regarding education with advanced technology are available in India. Today's many other customised courses are available and if you want more information, knowledge etc., you can search on internet. You will get many information and todays online course or education are also available. So, i dont think so that it is require to go abroad for better education. Even many foreign colloeges/university are doing tie up with indian colleges and many foriegn faculties are visiting in india.
