When it comes to office hours well we are kind of toppers. We spend a lot of time in the office and we work sometimes even on saturdays, sundays and many other holidays too. We are the most vacation deprived people and perhaps we do not have much time for our family too. But does that make us workaholics? What is the case exactly??

We work for long hours because we are either determined to be on the top or because we do not know the art of working smart. Perhaps it is difficult to say that in which category do we fall but somehow I believe that we waste a lot of our time and then end up getting oout of the office late..

Yes I agree with you. We are unable secure the declared holiday / a nice evening at home, it does mean that we need to mend our way of working. Smart working makes your life pleasurable both at Home & Office. You need to deliver the goods as scheduled in time as planned by you.

Yes it is truth that Indians are hard worker. Instead of doing smart working we always focus on doing hard work and i believe that it is nothing but waste of time.........

Yes Kriti, we tend to spend a lot of time in the office not on work.If you observe that the MD is doing CEO's Job, CEO is doing VP's Job & VP Sales/Ops.manager job it goes on like this in most of the organizations. Rather late sitting in the evening better come two hours early in the morning see how pending work will be cleared fast.

Neither we know how to work nor How to enjoy our Holidays.

Thanks for inviting, Kriti, but I disagree. With all respect to those few who don't fall in this category, we are mostly disorganized, disoriented, procrastinating, letharic, egoistic and sometimes greedy. And therefore, at times, end up working late to finish work. Some will even delay the work to earn a few extra hours of overtime. I know it's a negative attitude, quite contrary to my own perception of life, but it sometimes helps to talk about our shortcomings in order to improve.

Kriti I tend to agree with you but at the same time smart employees delegates and spend only the time required to be present at office. As one goes senior in service becomes more smart in delegation.

There are to my estimate only 10% people work and rest enjoys.

Yes we do hardwork, but it is for the dedication on the job and on the company we are working. Indians always work for learning, we are continuous learners.
