In India it should be asked that what will not work here. This will be better for us to answer. There are different-2 types of people here.Among few people i think this will be a great success.

This is in response to the argument that it will affect our eyes like a normal computer screen,in fact the new screen is such that it almost feels like a normal book page and interestingly it can be read under the glare of sunlight too, that is the new OLED technology, with back lighting it can be read even in dark where there is no electricity for long periods. The next gen e-readers will be solar powered, increasing battery life, saving on power etc.So in all respects the e-reader is here to stay!!! Another noteworthy thing about e-readers is that can also be used as a notebooks for your notes too, eliminating usage of slate, notebooks etc

I think it will work in India, because by using this no need to carry lot of books. But i am agree with Sarika madam that it will affect on eyes, so i think the best solution is that children should not allowed to use it but the young persons can use it because they have to study many things or topics so it will beneficial to carry it except lot of books. And Makrand sir you are also right that we can't ignore any side so we also can't ignore its positive side. Overall i think that it is good to use it...........

Definitely it will work out in India, for students, for IT people, for normal readers and especially good for them who use to study while relaxing. No need to carry a weighted books or sit in from of the PC and also its simply to carry where ever we go. I think the main drawback is pricing, so it will take time to come up in the market but definitely it will work out coz it have a lot of advantages.

E-books are definetely in, since they provide much smarter means of storage of data n are also not bulky. With fast access to required data n easy deletion of unwanted ones surely it is the next big thing!

I agree with u... The other credit is that the deforestation of trees, which is the source of papers can considerably come down... Let us hope in near future childrens will carry only a wallet containing E-Books...

Yeah Sonam...should probably see Infibeam repeating a similar kind of success as compared to its predecessor Amazon....reasons ranging right from cost cutting measures, environmental friendly issues, time agenda, easy access to unlimited data, reknowned literature and so on...The only hitch at the moment would be limited to the cost factors as the same would appeal more and of course sought after by the rich masses.

It's the future of books,as we know it,the era of paper is going, due to environmental reasons.Technically speaking,it is possible to carry 1 of these e-devices to use from KG to PhD.The amount of paper which can be saved, the cost of books comes down, dramatically and interestingly,NO book is ever OUT OF PRINT/STOCK,those quaint expressions will be history. It breaks down geographical barriers,a person in Timbuktu/Jhumritalalya with an internet/wireless connection can download it anywhere/anytime.Authors with no access or denied access to mainstream publishing can publish their works on internet, and market it directly to readers as e-books etc.As someone who has 15 yrs experience in the publishing industry, predicted the advent of this device way back in 1998,it is THE FUTURE!

Yes, I support in favour of this product. From Environmental point of view, This will save the trees from being cut for the production of paper and ultimately this will help in saving environment from disaster such as rise in temperature. From social point of view, this will revolutionize the age old concept of education learning. But there is trade off one must look for which is how many families can really afford this device. In India, majority of the people are from middle level income group. We may not like to see this device being in hands of only rich people, as this will create social imbalance. Your comments plz. thanks
