There are three distinct issues on the subject. 1. Firstly, for most of the employee a job is only to earn money, to maintain livelihood. They are always in search of better paying jobs;short-sighted. Hence, identify them! 2. Secondly, it is the attitude of the short-sighted, trader-type, lala-type private management, always in search of quick return of investment.Whenever an employee tries to spend time in libraries, boss feels he is wasting time . 3.Thirdly,If he comes out with some innovative ideas, he immediately generates resistance and jealousy! If he reads some very useful article, seniors think that he does not have any work to do!Colleagues immediately feel he is trying to be hero! The smarter seniors do the worst-- they try to sell the ideas of their juniors as their own! Once I asked some of my friends in GOVT. R&D organizations. They say what is the use? It will immediately be en cashed by some seniors.Ask the scientists of any Govt.R&D, all are demoralized! THANKS.

In our culture , mostly, we are taught to excell , and more so on academic front, then good institutions, and then very good CTC, the whole process is so macanized that the sense to inovate is lost and not developed at all. But if a person is not burdened to excell everytime, then automatically the risk taking, inovating, and experimenting will develop.

Constraints of Budget, R&D facilities, political will, high cost imports, etc. are the hindrances for innovation. A good innovator is like a "tapasvi" sitting in a silent posture to attain "enlightenment"! No one can define budget and time to achieve the intended result! Therefore, not pursued with vigour.

We do not have the basic skills and abilities to think out of the box. This applies from the very top level down. Almost ALL organisations will have a Head(R&D) whatever the designation may be. VERY FEW organisations have a dedicated separate budget or department for INNOVATION.

great innovations like steamm engeins, radio, current, phones and e==mc square ,all are because the innovaters didnt study in schools and colleges as we study ,they built their own questions and tryed to get the answers for them which leads them to todays technology base.but we spend most of our time just studing einstines theories and gravity theories and get degrees and masters, so where is the time and quest to innovate something new or chalenge the existing? we have to recheck our education system which takes a whole 1yr of us just to study abcd,1234 ,and tables, how much we remember in future?
