yeah right the government went by the book that is the good thing and didn't give any false or drastic budget which would had been a complete eye wash to the public, of which the actions would have never taken place, and the interim FM has done a good job with the interim budget by acknowledging primary concerned areas... so a good job done overall...

I think that leaving few, everything is all right there. The main target should be stablizing market, not employment. And govt is doing enough good. I have seen on news channels people are fighting that there is nothing for common man. I have not yet understand what common man need and why common men always need. We are already getting enough relaxation from government in different areas.
This is the time to built the economy powerful. And some how the budget meets the expectations.

So what is wrong with the budget, they have prioritized the agriculture sector, as farmers till now didn't have anything to boast about in the previous budgets, so farmers are getting their due recognition in this budget... And i think this is the budget for aam aadmi which is a good thing...

It is not that the the interim budget will create or boost the economic growth and jobs for all, they are taking measures that needed a look into and making sure that they are addressing various aspects which needed a response from the government and are trying to cater to everybody with this interim budget...

I think the country expects a lot more than Income tax sops and funds for agriculture. The budget should have been more versatile.

There was nothing for realty and auto sector where there were lots of expectations. From that point of view it is a very drab and forgetful budget. There’s no excitement, But in the end the government went by the book, avoided any new big bang fiscal measure, thereby disappointing most in India Inc.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee missed out on an opportunity to provide a further boost to India's worsening economy by choosing to present an ordinary interim budget. A Part time finance Minister has done a part time work for the vote on account. In the time of global economic recession this is like a disaster. The next Budget will be presented only by June-July and hence the next 5 months are gone. Lakhs of youth are loosing jobs and no mention of that. This is sad and worrying for Indian Economy.

i Agree with akash that the budget has done nothing and as the newspaper suggests that the budget is a flat one and it has done nothing to revive the economic situation or taken any steps regarding it, and it has just concentrated on the agri sector as such, so not a very good interim buget according to me.

I agree with Akash here. Like its predecessors , Congress will give a rotten economy to the next govt (if at all they come back , they will have to clear this mess). Was watching the CNBC last nite which featured Mr Sanghvi (offical spokesperson for Congress), the overwhelming comments of the economists were the same. The core ground work for Congress dream run was done by the NDA. Congress despite such renowned name like P. Chindambram and Manmohan Singh has failed to capitalize on this good run. Normally any budget should speak about what it is intended to do in the next financial year, whereas this interim one lauds the hyped statistics of the past 4 years making tall claims but delivered nothing.I think there were no sops given for the auto, construction or any sectors because the UPA was not getting through a good bargaining with these sectors lobby for funding the forthcoming general elections. In effect it merely states its previous years achievements(!) and giving nothing to individual tax payers or to the corporates.
