Brylcreem and Lebara Mobile are partnering the live You Tube telecasts on IPL. Be sure that the kind of promotions that they run would naturally attract the TG in hordes. The impact would be from the view of the fact that most of the gen next (students) would still be engaged in their exams (xth and XIIth). Schools and College exams put together would mean that nerly 70% of the IPL telecasts would be missed by the actual junta of viewers!! You tube is extremely popular amoungst the said TG and with streaming available on the new generation cell phones... well you can definitely see the young ones attached to you tube rather than the boob tube!! Thanks for the referral Jayant!!

Definitely it will not affect TV broadcasting. Here IPL has made a strategic move to enhance its profits. There is a vast difference in watching the TV and the Youtube. TV can give enhanced view of the field where as the later cannot. Naturally viewers would like to watch only the TVs. Further TVs have very mass appeal than the YT.

Obviously, It won't affect TV bradcast, as Most people prefer to watch IPL on television than Internet, B'coz, at the time of IPL , the people find excitement on every second, while on internet, its a slow process.

Imagine this: super enthralling match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XII; Yuvraj on crease; Shane Warne at bowler's end; takes his run-up; Yuvi all set to hit a six; Warne whrils his arm and.................the video stops for buffering. Do you still think IPL on Youtube will effect TV Broadcasting?

just two questions.... 1) HOW many people in India are having the connection to a High speed Internet (even if it is available)... 2) how many of them are comfortable watching it on a computer screen?.... really makes me wonder....why even put up the entire thing on Youtube... rather jst put up the highlights..

A BIG NO IS THE ANSWER. WHEN A BOWLER BOWLS A NO BALL THE BATSMAN GETS FREE HIT. JUST LIKE THAT U CANNOT CHANGE T.V VIEWRS ESPECIALLY A CRICKET MATCH. VIEWRS ARE READY TO FORGO ANYTHING BUT NOT CRICKET.

S I do agree that Youtube cant Impact the Market of Telewatchers... S its a gud news 4 d ppls who will be busy in work and can have watch on the Updates of the cricket thats all.. I feel Television is more popular to watch matches live than on Internaet.. Its basically a great IDEA for Marketing of IPL but not replacing TV.... From organisations point of view.... The advertisement and expenditures will be higher and will be only on Televisions and not on Youtube etc...

The way IPL is going about signing deals across available options, one really can't help but admire the skills of Modi's team. But YOUTUBE can not be looked as a threat to TV channels. YOUTUBE, synonymus with exciting clips and shoots, is not the media vehicle that would attract audiences for an event as IPL.

No, it will not affect TV broadcasting that because people now become fond to sit in front of television to see the live matches, you tube will not give that speed and clarity what television can give. I don’t think you tube able to show live match otherwise advertiser will be divert to other medium and I don’t think so Set Max allow other to other medium to show telecast match. IPL management is planning to show the IPL match in multiplex, even here TV will not affect because nobody want to spend money more to see matches when it is showing on your television. There is an article I read today that the viewership will increase by 50 % on ground that they promoted IPL more as compare than last two IPL Series.

Everything has their own importance and youtube also. But it won't affect TV Broadcasting in anyway. Only it will increase the number of viewer of IPL. If we are in office where TV facility is not available and want to enjoy IPL match then definitely I have choice to go to You tube to watch IPL match. But, same if way if we are home and having TV facility, I think definitely we want to see match only and only on TV screen not on Youtube because of it won't give that level of climax. Also, bandwidth and price matter. So, finally I want to say that Youtube and like are only supportive source but they couln't be the competitor of TV.
