IPL and elections both need security measures. And at present only one one could be secured.

IPL is going tol happen every year. Elections Once in A 5 year* (conditions apply ha..). Government invest a lot for elections (our tax money). If polling of one booth is cancelled then it took a lots of money to conduct re-election there. But from IPL only those personalities get benefited who are involved. So securities should be more for elections.

The date for IPL was announced almost an year back and if election is scheduled on these dates then it is necessary that the security of both of them should be well planned in advance. The decision is not made a day or two back.
