Clearly "experienced" could be varied, but in general a WELL experienced individual would need one year or less of academic formation to be effective in the market. By

Your past experience does add a little but the MBA experience is something that could not be parralled with real time experience. The role is totally different in an MBA as it is holistic tahtn otherwise what you had in your previous experience whichmay have connection and which may not have connection. moreover MBA is meant for all not to a section of society. Hence 2 years is a must.whether you are experienced or not. By

both are ok. as long as the learner applies what is taught n learnt effectively to everybody's benefit. Problems we face mostly is 99 % is interested in the certificate to boast of in front of people with zero knowledge and talk any nonsesnse and do all nonsense. Even if one grasps 10 % of what is taught n applies effectively, the result will be great for everyone. By

I fully support 1 year MBA as I am a part of it perusing it from Symbiosis , full time course ,and according to me MBA is not just the bookish knowledge it requires practical implementation ,mapping it with our work what we have done and without workex MBA is like birds without wing. By

experience is the best teacher anyway---a course just helps align what u already know, through experience with a structure a design and a theoretical base..it helps broaden perspectives and maybe at times helps u to see things differently. a 1 yr course can help consolidate things in your know into a perfected format to be used/refuted with further experience over time. After all what u learn (if u take it seriously) is what others have experienced/experimented with. so how could that be wrong? U just added value to yourself through it. Now why not 2 yrs since working ppl need not necessarily go through the summer projects\on the job training that takes up a big chunk of the end of first year and most of second year. By

Why there should be time element for management courses for experienced professionals??? They are busy people. I would suggest, that mba course be so designed that, its completed on one's own pace...somebody may complete it in 6 months, some may take 3 years. By

when you are already a experienced professional why would you go for a regular MBA.One should opt for Executive MBA which is a 1 year duration course and many institutes offer the same .Executive MBA program is a program that is specially designed for professional managers and executives who want to accelerate their career growth. This program is made up in such a way that it helps executives who already have the basic knowledge of business but just want to add on to their management skills. By

MBA degree can give you only bookih knowledge which is some different from practical,bt its essental, and if u have the practical knowledge, or have good expreince to facing problems.and u already handled the all types of sitituation.then the 2year is wasting of time. b,coz time is also precious. By

MBA without work experience are having only the bookish knowledge where as MBA is a live study which can be earned only if you have worked in any of the sectors and for this reason I support 1year MBA in India. By

I think one year MBA is sufficient for experienced people, because they know WHY they are going for MBA,which specialization they are going for, they can take theory discussions ahead and they can learn more about things they are passionate for. By

As a MBA i think for experienced people 1 yr of mba is enuf... coz dey r already sure of der field of specialisation... now in 1st yr of d 2 yr coarse all d subjects wid basics r taught whereas in 2nd yr area of specialisation is major focus.... so 4 exp guys 1 yr coarse is good... By

Experienced person can grasp the things fater and also co-relation is easier. Why not regular MBA duration be reduced to 1 year for those who have 5 years or more experience ?MBA now-a-days is nothing but gromming/finishing school.

am a bit dumb to debate on this topic, as it really needs no debate to conclude whether you need 1 or 2 yrs. of MBA and thats why you see am typing my opinion...whether its 1 or 2 years, each of them depends on the person whos applying for MBA and have their own merits...a person who do not wanna quit his job/ entrepreneurial ventures and wanna concentrate on certain specialised topics for personal development, 1 year is sufficient whereas if you wanna quit and go for a regular MBA (thats what I did), you will not only complete 2 yrs. MBA but also get to showcase your mgmt skills and earn some goodies(I was very bad @ it) for urself...Knowledge is something you cannot measure in terms of 1 or 2 years...it is immeasurable dat needs no debate... Each course is designed with modules and credits well sectioned and divided, please note these divisions are well researched and approved by AICTE and other institutions, now if an individual coming from different stream such as engineering, arts or science will not be able to follow all the concepts being taught in 3 and 4 sem MBA because the 1st and 2nd sem course credits build the general platform upon which the higher education can be based, just because one takes work experience he might start understanding and relating the nuances of the course to his experiences but will not make him/her a generalist. As long as the technical body that builds the course does not draft a curriculum that can be completed in 1 year, it is always advisable to do the 2 year MBA. Please note its an investment towards enhancing your knowledge and sharpening your skill sets and not just a certificate that is adding to your CV.
Today its nt matter that u waste two year in MBA despite having experience.... Its all about how much u have learned more in these two year b,coz this the time where u can learn more and can become more experienced than ever before..... By

Here comes the question whether MBA is an Art or Science. Experienced people are good at art of management. When comes to question of part of science, one should learn it. It depends on the design of the curriculum ofcourse. There are some executive MBA courses of one year duration being offered by premier institutions ofcourse. Learning the science part of Management is equal to one and all.
