Dear sir, again i can say that you are slightly right. but we can easily understand that players play their game only for money and they get money after they made run with a very good strike rate. in this they forget the technique of cricket. sometimes they suffer injury but still they play cricket .why this so?only for money.

Obviously, yes. The game of cricket is elevated to a very high level. Earlier, bookies were involving themselves in the game of cricket clandestinely. Due to them, many of our great cricketers were brought into controversy. Even the national spirited person, like, Kapil Dev had to sulk in public due to the controversy and the South African Cricket Legend had to shed his life due to the great controversy. Now, the situation is topsy-turvy. Combination of political power, industrialists, media and entertainment groups, celebrities and the likes have joined hands to make it even more effective. Hitherto, what was happening in dark has now been happening in public glare. The game of cricket has been controlled by India in many ways. Poor cricketers, they are exposed to all sorts of people - we don't know how many of them were threatened, knowingly or unknowingly, to play for them. Are they going to get the promised fee, as the new controversy is turning very ugly, and there are many heads that are likely to be rolled. In the circumstances, only the Almighty can save the game of cricket. Sachin Tendulkar and Murali Vijay had shown to the world that without compromising on the elegant and style of batting, sheer timing is sufficient rather than force.

Largely yes. The players play for the money. The organisers rip off the money from advertisements, tv times etc. satta experts gamble. You and I need either to shut up and watch tv or shut it off totally.

Yes they play only for money, day by day I losing interest in cricket. It seem to be like a gambling and everyone is money minded. By seeing this I feel all sports are played for money and we all are wasting our time by watching it, which is of no use for us. Thanks....

T-20 is the quickest version of cricket, a sport so far as the content and format is concerned. Gambling and betting is possible on any activity and this at best can be called aberration, if happening, The game T-20 is surely not gambling.

Good argument Tanmay. Let us not blame the game itself for the follies of a select few who are into it only for the love of lucre. All sports have been conceived and developed keeping one thing in mind -- the recreational benefit it offers to the player, and the sheer pleasure/enjoyment it offers to the viewing public. It's corrupt modern practices and methods of running the game that has brought it disrepute. The need of the hour is to clean up the system, rather than shutting down the sport itself. We need effective controls, regulations, and implementation of laws to ensure the game does not die a slow death, nor does it provide an opportunity to make fast bucks for those who treat it more as a business and less as a sport.

Dear Mahesh, cricket has been said to be a gentlemen game and adding the tag of gambling to it creates the bad impression. it is the source of entertainment with limited overs of time. Money do matters whether it is legally or illegally.
