Thanks Darshna for referral. I think Ajmal Kasab is indirectly making a hole in tax payers pocket since all the expense is borne by tax paying community of our country.

I think its more than hole in our pocket, it reflects on way we (India) reflect back on things. We need to run a fair and "QUICK" trial and ensure a clear punishment and send clear signal to world that we can be firm and decisive on matter of such key importance, atleast.

Yes , I agree. It is surprising that a person who has been identified as a criminal , in a court of law , is still in custody which is costing the country crores ! Why is no person / organization interested in bringing this tamasha to an end ? We are interested in fighting to bring back the 4 lakh crores from Swiss banks , which is a project for eternity ! But none of these very same people is interested in bringing this Kasab story to an end.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force has slapped a bill of Rs 10.87 crore on the Maharashtra government for guarding Kasab at the Arthur Road jail and sought its reimbursement which has stunned the state. Do you feel the cost of keeping him alive is justified? I think the government is procrastinating in his trial.

Thanks Darshana for referral and Tina as well.It is very difficult to take side on such a debate. The reason being that issue is very critical. The diplomacy teaches to keep such issues live which can be used to brow beat the concerned parties across the table. Ajmal Kasab dilemma is such an costly proposition. The catch is very valuable and can be made use of in future engagement.

Yes, it is our Government which is delaying his exceution. Our systems needs to be very fast othrewise this kind of expenditure will always be there. Hope a decision is taken at the earliest. And it is quite strange for us to expect some quick action as it has not even taken a decision on afzal guru so how can we expect a early judgement from this govt ?

A news items says that "The Indo-Tibetan Border Police has sent a bill for Rs.109 million to the government of Maharashtra, of which Mumbai is the capital, for security at the city’s Arthur Road jail where Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab is being held. Some 200 ITBP commandos have been guarding Kasab at the high security jail since early 2009. The 23-year-old Pakistani national was tried and convicted last May at a special court inside the prison complex." The Govt. failing to take decision to hang him as per the Court verdict. Vote Bank politics are the reason for this. Pakistani aided terrorists including Kasab attacked Mumbai and put it to a loss of over Rs.4,000 crores (According to ASSOCHAM). The Govt. is putting burden on the nation with its indecisiveness. I discussed these things in my blog titled "Justice delayed is just denied".
