Algae biofuel is a fuel derived from the process of growing algae and decomposing it to extract oils from it that can be burned for energy. It involves the same basic principles underlying all other biofuels, but uses algae instead of corn, wood, sugar, or soy beans to produce the fuel. Now the question is Does algae biofuel yield substantial energy relative to the energy inputs involved in its production?

Algae are the only orgsanims which have higher percentage of oil content than that of the any other cerop plants also deriving oils is also a easy process. the only thing is that the multiplication of algae. if one can overcome this barrier it is possible.

for solar energy there are many barriers as well can we are able to run vehicle thousands of K. M.

It’s a big deal because algae don’t just create energy from the sun…they create energy from the sun more effectively than anything else save photovoltaic panels. And, as you may have guessed, they’re a heck of a lot cheaper than photovoltaic panels.

Compared to solar energy, however, the energy efficiency of algae is very low – around 1 percent, while solar panels have an efficiency of at least 10 percent, and solar thermal gets 20 percent and more. So why would we choose algae over solar energy?

I agree with Soma. Not always we can assure of "No fire" in oil depot. We can only do preventive measures. Oil related fire accidents are common across the world. Then why only to blame india of not being able to control these cases...
Nice insight Varsha, some good points made there, which will surely help a lot...thanks for sharing.
While constructing, go for skylighting, go for sloped roofs with glasses which allows light during day, and on one end of the slopes you can go for solar panels, or in the slope itself one can insert photo voltaic cells in place of tiles...have more...
