Apple once which was in doldrums, is now the worlds biggest tech comapany which surpassed Microsoft easily interms of valuation making it one of the biggest tech company in the world. What Microsoft did to PC's with its windows OS for PC's, Apple are doing the same with their smartphones and their OS for these smartphones which are a hit among the developers who develop so many applications which support these smartphones.

Here in this segment biggies like Nokia are dusted to the ground, the possible competition may come from Google, RIM, or even Microsoft who have ventured on the smartphone segment with Windows7series phones. But failed badly, iphone is a revelation and a blockbuster product from the stable of Apple, and Steve Jobs has done something like Bill gates when he brought out Windows from Microsoft.  So, can we call Apple the Microsoft of the mobile?  Share your views ppl......

I believe it is a very wrong statement to give " Apple a Microsoft of Mobile" because both Microsoft and Apple have their own identities. Microsoft is a giant in S/W whereas Apple is a giant in superbs technology and excellent mobile phones. They are the masters in their own field and it would be an insult to Apple ( who is always giving the best product to the world) to call it a Microsoft of Mobile.

I think not exactly we can call Apple the Microsoft of mobile, as still Nokia rules the roost with selling most number of mobiles in the world, the Finnish company is way ahead, but apple is catching this segment with their smartphones, as smartphones are the one's selling like anything, also innovation is happening a lot in this segment, every day you can see some or other new release happening in this segment, and with 3G and 4G coming up smartphones will be the leader in Mobile segment, but apple are in the right direction to the the next Microsoft of mobile...
