It's true because in the present day world only the values tose matter are money and status. Art and literature contribute to a person to make him more rational, wise having bigger horizon more imaginations and creativity among people and nature. All these have been sustituted by behavioural studies in industrialyy and technically advanced age but these studies are never contributing to ethical and aesthtical improvement in asensitive way. in other words not sensitizing people for becoming more humanists.

In a materialistic world what that adds value in money or revenue is considered important these days. When people had lots of time to probe into the other aspects of literature and pure science earlier, are not showing interest. A cycle is on may be after some time whn more engineers and doctors are there and there are no avenues for them to serve the people then may be the litereature type aesthetic arts will flourish. yet it is appreciated to those who choose literature even now after all these scientific development.

We have only a few recognised bodies in the country, viz., Sahitya Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Bhartiya Jnanpith, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, Modern Arts Gallery, etc. Most of their true master pieces are projected by the Documentary and Film Makers. Doordarshan provides them a great platform in all forms of art and literature. Yes. We need to do more in order to keep alive our original art form and the literature in many languages. What is missing is Library for Visually Blind People - a lot of literature, viz., Rabindra Nath Tagore's, Sarojini Naidu's, Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharati's books and various other literary work should be converted into Braille for the purpose of their benefit. Technology can help in producing all these documents in the audio-book format for their use!

Yes! The art and literature is lagging behind because people keep less interest on this topic. Such situation arises when any civilization reached its peak and falling rapidly. We are growing or developing very fast to reach to an end. The art and literature have no role in negative growth.

It looks natural that in the Kaliyug art and literature are vanishing and computers and softwares are taking lead. This is the time for cheap 'filmi' songs that everyone can enjoy in concert. It is strange to quote about an incident I recently confronted. Some young students were dancing to their full tune on the song 'Sheela Ki Jawani' inside a private school van that was standing on the side of the road. I had no surprise because this is the natural standing in the society. I am of the strong feeling that it is very difficult revive poetry and art among people now when everyone is looking for money and money only.Thinking is perverted. God save us.

I have written about the neglect of vernacular languages and also about the fading of such art forms as harikatha, burrakatha, yakshagana, importance of shatakas etc and sent invite to all my connections and the response was very poor.

Technology being the species and offspring of literature has to be advanced in spirit. Art has always been on the back seat. Its rather a parallel domain which is mutually exclusive.

I agree with the point that science is also art. There is something artistic about how a new product is designed. There may also be a lot of art which goes unnoticed, untapped or unpublicized. There may be a great mixed media exhibition in one's city which one may not be aware of, because it doesn't have sponsors or get the publicity.
