Recently Forbes has come out and said that Azim premji in India is like Bill gates for US..

India's software tycoon Azim Premji plans to set up a world-class university to train teachers who will fan out to the teacher training institutes in India's 600 districts.

"It will be a world-class university with a large endowment," 64-year-old Premji told Forbes magazine noting, "Most of these institutes are a complete mess with the teachers leading the classes worse than the teachers that come to get trained."

Much like Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Premji also plans to give away most of his money during his lifetime, the US business magazine revealed.

Also Mr. Premji is the worlds 28th richest person with 17 billion who winds up giving more money to charity to his own kins.

What do you think people, is Azim premji the Bill gates of India?

I think yes Azim premji is the bill gates of India, doing many philanthropic works like Bill gates and his wife Melinda gates, and has done charity in various fields but his main agenda is improving the  quality of education that is provided in India which is not of that good standards, with coming up of world-class university for teachers training where teachers will get to know all the new methods of teaching which is very much needed at the moment, so some good things are happening from the wipro side under Azim Premji's leadership which is striving for a better India.

I don't think that Azim Premji is Indian Bill Gates, not because Bill Gates was the CEO of bigger organisation but i think Premji has his own identity .As the Wipro is getting into many kind of markets, he can be better than Bill Gates.

Shri. Aziz Premji is not Bill Gates of India.

He have his way of thinking as well as style. He have his own vision .

He is the man with the mission . He is innovative in his ideas & always

delivers high level of business with excellence.

You may find some things common in Shri Aziz Premji & Mr. Bill Gates, but

please do not compare between them.

As Mr. Gates is good at his place & Shri Aziz is good at his position .

Y we always give names to those who try to work in their own ways...I think Azim Premji got his wn mindset and he is doing everything in its ows fashion and every person should be given his own place of identity instead of comparing with others....

Let us not compare Azzem premji with bill gates ,

His work and vision will always remembered by all indians. Great to observe the world class institute for teachers initiative .Only one concern when we will have such an institute ,why would anyone go for teaching as a career ? it wouldn't be as lucrative as any work in the IT world. The whole " College /University /Teaching " thing needs a re-think on how beteer we can empower them and also ensure that in this way ,teaching does reamin a well sorted after career ,

i am sure the think -tanks have something in this regard , all in all a welcome move

YES

I think this is the best answer. Premji is his own man. Dignified, cultured and quiet. He is not the lime light hogging CEOs. His behaviour infuses confidence.

I oppose such a comparison.

Although I do have clear views on it, it is not proper to comment about persons who could turn out to be my future employers.

Azim Premji is Azim Premji. Do not compare him with others.

Bill Gates is also something different : he donated all his wealth for charity. We are yet to see such a gesture from any Indian tycoon.
