Yes, you are right Mehul. IPL is not real cricket. It is an entertainment arranged by BCCI to make money. As they did not interested in the result of the tournament. Their real interest is to make money by any way . So please don't discuss this topic anymore because BCCI is senseless body & they don't even care about our emotions. So please let them do what they want & you can spent this time on your own by exercising/ with family/............

Think cricket per se should be banned - or at least played in-camera. That would put an end to all controversies

It is well seen from the fact that the should be "BIG EVENT" T20 WORLD CUP is not so much able to attract the viewership from the fans. The cricketers are also professionals looking to make more money. A fact cannot be ignored that IPL has made more money as an company in the past 3 years which no other company can think of making. Ans also there should be evolution.

It's an open secret, everybody knows that "Money" is the only motive and it is played by our Corrupt Politicians along with the Rich and Famous as they are looking for means to invest their illgotten wealth (Black Money). Where to invest and what better than IPL. I beleive it makes no sense discussing any of these topics unless there is an effort made for a positive outcome. We keep discussing and the Corrupt continue making their money....

I am constant in the debate. But if anyone wants to say that We Indians ignore our team's performance in World Cup(50) after watching great performance in IPL then it is not admirable. IPL game is just for entertainment not covered the spirit of actual cricket. We want to get world cup again as same as Kapil's dev team..........

Yes, Now in the current scenario IPL is only a Hub of marketing, everyones are interested on their own growth, and IPL is the main & great source of marketing for the Company, even player also. So, the spirits of sports game is decreasing.

IPL has helped cricket to do better. Due to some incidents related to IPL, it does not mean that cricket is affected. IPL brought the game of cricket into a stratospheric league of its own. IPL boosted the perception and image of cricket among the masses. The fact that it led to other issues is another aspect. But it cannot be denied that IPL has been strongly responsible for cricket competing with cinema on the same platform and it has blurred the boundaries further. A classic case of blue ocean business strategy reaping full benefits......

IF YOU LOOK BACK, AT LEAST FOR THE LAST 4 DECADES,FROM THE DAYS OF PATAUDI, THERE HAS BEEN A STEADY INCREASE IN FOLLOWERS,PLAYERS,MATCHES,NEWS ABOUT MATCH FIXING ETC ETC.THOUGH THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PLAYING COUNTRIES.REVENUES TO PLAYERS,ORGANISERS,CLUBS,ASSOCIATIONS,ADVERTISERS,EX PLAYERS, HAVE GROWN MANIFOLD.THERE IS NOT THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE CRICKET WILL LOSE ITS FAME.HOCKEY IS SAID TO BE OUR NATIONAL GAME .IRONICALLY IT DOES NOT ATTRACT MANY.THERE MAY BE FURTHER MODIFICATIONS AS THE GAME WHICH WAS PLAYED FOR 5 DAYS HAS SHRUNK TO 2O OVERS.

what's wrong if IPL making money. IPL taught world cricket how to make money. Ans if we talk about real cricket, then real cricket is in which people take interest and people are taking interest in IPL.

I very well understand that IPL is cricket + glamour + business. But cricket comes first. There is no business or glamour without play. As some of the memebers commented it is a platform for young Indian talent to be upstaged. Players like David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Pollard, Murali Vijay and lot many got selectedinto thier national teams because of their performance in IPL. There are both sides of any coin - only the positive should be accepted. Its being argued that IPL is leading way to gambling in youngsters......are not 50-50 matched leading a way into gambling. Negative sides are always there for any sports event. That does'nt mean that the whole community is ruptured. There are sincere players like Sachin who proved to be the master in this format though not being in the Indian team. Kallis and Jayawardane (who are supposed to be touch players) came out in great colours in IPL and are continuing their form in the World Cup also. Because of our failure in WC, we cannot rule out a sport which is breeding new talent. I sincerely support the efforts put in by BCCI and IPL to nurture new talent.

In spite of all the controversies and allegations, i believe that IPL has given a new life to many cricketers in india whom we never heard of. it is a big platform for youngsters to show case their talent. players like naman ojha, siddarth trivedi and vinay kumar made use of the opportunities. IPL is just for fun and should be seen as so. They are not representing BCCI or ICC. I am sure people will watch IPL no matter if modi is the chairman or some XXX or YYY.

The real supporters of cricket know that IPL is nothing but a circus and is not a serious enterprise. Of course with a lot of money coming into the game, unfortunately sleaze will get associated.
