There is no stemming the blood-letting in BJP. The BJP has been facing one crisis after another following the Lok Sabha election debacle.

Starting with Jaswant Singh's episode: book on Mohammad Ali Jinnah, where Jaswant singh was shown the door. Then a former strategist and BJP ideologue Sudheendra Kulkarni announced his decision to quit the party following ideological differences.

And in the lastest blow to BJP, rebellion by leaders like Arun Shourie, Yaswant Singh and Vasundhara Raje have shown that not all is right in the principal Opposition party of India.

With all this backlash within party leaders, do you think BJP leadership is heading for a downfall?

I guess yes there is too much of internal clashes in the party members, there is huge communication gap that is there among the party leaders, as Arun shourie suggested they should revamp the whole camp there if not it will be soon all over for BJP and there will be no party to give fight for congress and it will be all one sided affair from now on. So with all the recent happenings and with the attitude that BJP is having where senior members word is not taken, then they are heading for a downfall for sure.  Should infuse some young blood to recharge the old warhorse like BJP.

Congress got its defeat from outside. BJP the defeat is from within. Congress got back after Indira's defeat and going strong now lead by Rahul by addressing the real issues like appointed leaders without cadre and grassroot support vs leaders with grassroot support and elected. This effort and reorganisations going to further strengthen congress. BJP and all other parties  are top heavy without much party democracy at ground level. Also BJP agenda is set and controlled by outside agency and this remote control is the main reason many Indians rejecting its policies and hidden agenda. It can become a strong force only when it establishes its own independance and include people from all sections of society. A national party cannot be made up of a single community it should embrace all and its agenda should focus on nation building, development and brotherhood. Hate politics will not get any support.

Please read my posting "A Bitter Pill for India Reprieve' (Part 1) posted in 'Social and Community affairs" community in this space before the LS election, predicting the impending predicament of BJP and also the Communist Party. Posted in 5 parts, I have covered most of the cotemporary issues in the country. Though it was originally written and published immediately after 2004 LS election, many points still remain worthy to ponder.

There has to be unity for any party or team to survive and this is dying off in BJP.

Not heading, it's already down. I agree with you that new and young people should join. But, first it is necessary to revamp the ideology, strategy and have clear cut goals. Otherwise it's monopoly of the congress, which can mean big trouble. Like competition in a business, opposition has to be present for the health of the nation.

Do you really think there is any leadership in BJP which can actually fall??...there has to be something somewhere..only then it can rise or fall!!

Post Mr,Bajpayee's exit from politics, there is not a single member in the whole bjp party who has the capacity to take the party along.

BJP could never create its secular image, there were always hidden agendas behind its lip talk.

There are too many politicans in BJP but hardly any leader, hence too many personal interests and ego clashes.

One cannot expect a national party to fight elections of a billion+ populous country, like what BJP did in 2009 lok sabha polls.

Bring black money to india, portraying modi as PM candidate, then Rajnath being portrayed as PM candidate, LK Advani's own grp promoted him as Prime ministerial candidate. The campaign MAZBOOT NETA NIRNAYAK was a good punch line for hoardings and newspapers but not good enough to convince the people of india. Then differences amongsts the party members on varun gandhi's speech, then differences between rajnath singh and arun jaitley... The list of blunders committed by bjp is umpteen and rightly quoted by Arun shourie as :rajnath is alice in blunderland... Infact its whole bjp party which is in blunderland.

I also agree with you Himanshu, There have been many internal problems and clashes among the members of BJP from quiet a good amount of time because of which the unity among them is not so strong. I think because of this, their leadership is heading towards downfall.

Just like Indira gandhi after her electoral defeat after the EMERGENCY she built the

congress party single handedly.

Similarly BJP will  weather the crisis.
