As large construction projects requires heavy equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, loaders and dumpers. Purchasing such equipment only adds to the costs of construction companies, who are already battling soaring commodity prices. Provide machinery on rent will make it easier for the construction company to contain project costs.
Therefore, I see entrepreneurs have a big opportunity to enter the construction equipment rental business.

More and more companies are coming in this field. Lot of investments are being done in this sector. And about the rental parts, I am repeaing again that many companies have opportunities of coming in this feild and starting new business as more and more companies are preferring to take products on rents rather than buying products and adding to the cost. So, indeed it is a booming sector...

Many more organisation are entering into this  field SREI infra structure financing company,  L& T finance seems to latest one to enter. I suppose more people are coming into it and main reason is cost of projects is going up but it helps reducing project completion and achive better quality. Ofcourse life and utilty of the equipment is not over with the completion of the project.

I do see that providing machinery on rent may be profitable for the construction company. But as the steel prices have gone up due to the economic crisis prevailing, there will be a major impact of input cost increase for all Construction equipment manufactures and I dont see entrepreneurs have a big opportunity.
