Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will watch the World Cup semi final between India and Pakistan in Mohali on Wednesday. He has also invited Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari to watch the match. In between all of this there is one question which is cropping up like, is cricket the best confidence building measure for Indo-Pak relations?

My Dear friends,To make a fish with out oil is not a wise men's step ,"Cricket is never used as a fulcrum to balance the relation between 2 countries,but if is used to make the relations better,I mean there's no harm in that. It is a step to pull out the talks again for the moment of peace. Great & a brave step in terms of fixing the issues or having a start by Manmohan singh,"I appreciate it.."

I really don't think so...from a practical standpoint and not to make any over statement, Cricket is only a money minting venture among the bookies, players and the organisers. The days of ping-pong diplomacy are gone. India does not have a leader in Manmohan Singh to resolve Indo-Pak dispute that centres around the J&K autonomy.

The Governments of India & Pakistan should stop using cricket for diplomacy. Cricket is a sport and should be played like one. The attendance of top leaders at the venue of such an important match for India can pressurize both the Teams as well as the organizers. The confidence between the two contries can be best built only by reciprocal measures by the two Governments. The onway traffic needs to be stopped immediately.
