I don't say ads are the only reason which reduced their performance but it is also one main reason. Recent day you can see many cricket players are used as a brand ambassador for various products like boost, ACC cement, Pepsi, etc.... So this has reduced their concentration in sports. So they should reduce it or avoid it to excel in their field.......

Playing professional Cricket does not mean players should skip living as a human beings. When they start living as human being and being a celebrity - Ads come up in their kitty. These Ads are just like they do eat, go for shopping, meet families. One who plays or played at any level could easily connect this very easily. We in general or Media might make it an issue without actually it is for any cricketer. One could take up example of Sachin & MSD - who lead the pack of Cricketers in Ad ....But see their performace. Truely world class and they are on top of ICC cricket rankings. Performance dont get affected by this or that until cricketers do get fatigue by doing something physical and very rigorous. Else performance is more about mental set up which should backed up by physical well being.

Now a days, cricket is money only. My suggestion is when we can awarded the team with so many gifts etc when they won T20 World cup 1st time. later they come out in led matches. They did not reach in qtr final/semi final. So, as a award we have to give them a shame ful Yarta from Airport to their houses on open roof bus. Next time they will try best. I think, they will not come back before entry in semi final.

The ads come only if the performance is very good and consistently. This raises the expectation of people which again puts lot of pressure on the players. As their attention is diverted, they tend to underperform

First thing is that if the performance is poor nobody consider the CRICKETER for the ads. If any cricketer wants to earn more and more money by doing the ads, he has to improve his performance day by day, otherwise he will be thrown out! The career of a cricketer is very small as compared to others, so let them enjoy the ads. which will secure their FUTURE!

Thanks allot SHRIKANT for referring me but I an unable to support you!

Apart from tv ads indulgence in public appearance at award functions, parties, mall opening, etc are some of the factors. But the main factor is fatigue due to excessive playing.Indian players cannot take toll of their body because we are not that fit and athletic as compared to the athletic sportsmen from US, Africa, etc because of our diet and to some extent climate. And this speaks itself why we continously failed in Olympics especially in Track&Field area.

Player coming from an ordinary social family when exposed to the advertising world, his main aim of playing is diverted to the glamor and money. The player is now practicing against the camera, leaving net practice/game practice well behind because this is the easiest way of making money and maintaining high standards of life. When the cricketer becomes famous for his game, the society will appreciate his contribution towards game by making him Hero in social events, new openings..etc.He is not receiving critics and comments for his game but he is being praised for his looks, style, likings etc. This falls praises disturbs his concentration to wards game and day will come when he lost the touch of the game. This applicable for all man kind but for Indian Cricket you will have nos of examples that so many good cricketers has lost the game because of such miss events.

YES ... FAME & MONEY GOES TO THEIR HEADS !

EXCEPT FOR SACHIN... I would say, it affects all of them. They spend more concentration on Ad. Films & Promotions rather than on the Game. Once Money comes in, the feeling of SECURITY sets in & they tend to relax in their attitude towards the Game.

Im not totally against MONEY or FAME because all of US are in the Race for the same...BUT there should be some MONITORING ON THE SAME. Since they represent the Country & are the Pride & Prestige of all Indians perse, they need to be more focussed.

Happy Debating Friends !

Short or big cricketers come into limelight due to their game they play. They cannot do justice to their game if they devote their time and concentration to other activities. Further, representing in advertisements  and becoming brand ambassadors for companies would definitely take away their precious time and in turn which would affect  their performance. As everybody knows cricketers career is VERY SHORT and so they should give their 100% devotion to it and for rest they can always save for later.......

cricketers have to be more focussed on the essence of the game not the big money that comes with with it. They should be motivated to focus on the game and play for the nation with pride. The 'game' has become more of a business

I Strongly agree with this bcs "Now a days players are more of money motivated" rather than playing for their nation pride.

not always but ya.. it is something which plays a role.. it brings a false hope for the players that they are now more popular and confident.. we cant c them playing huge shots as they used to do before... hope they realize the purpose of playing for the nation..

Too much of Money.... Rotten Wealth.. beyond Imagination takes them away from their performance. Shadow curtains gradually brings down the levelof perfomance...
