With the advancement in web technology there is only one culture coming up and that is " Globalism" . The NextGen doesn't know their culture and if they know then its in tits n bits And that soon will lick the dust. To live a life following a culture and tradition depends on the individuals . The act of doing a certain thing depends on the individual to decide. It is not that he may be of any age. It is just the human instinct which decides it.

I appreciate both sides views...but myself in favour of Yes...it will have a cause to harm the social values specially for Indians..where we count every relationship and cultural values. Fact is that it has started devaluing of our culture and society.

And i strongly believe culture is not something that should be practiced just at home, or for an occasion ! It has got a basic essence that can be followed even in the modernized of all societies. That's actually not following, but respecting our culture.

yes in awe of western culture's 'free to do anything' ideologies, this young generations are heading nowhere. before british and mughal invasions and looting our country was the richest.simply due to rulers of that time respected, followed and practiced indian culture.yes we can find good things in western culture.only few.this is in whole contrast to indian culture.it's a pity that this culture, which brought lots of wealth, fame, innovations leading to several inventions for the country is being sidelined...by those who should be its disciples.

Yes. I am not referring to the Generation ignorant chats and party dates, simply implicit and part of modern world, but how many of you believe the Country's rich culture still prevail, while the same is admired an is put for studies in the main universities of the world ? While we are happy we move competing the west, they actually try to study and research on our culture. We are simply UNAWARE of our values.

Each age defines its own culture... and culture.. by its nature is evolving... if its stagnant or saturated.. its not culture. So, let this age / generation define its own culture. Whats important is to know the past and learn from it, not live in the past. Our Culture exactly tell us to do that.

It’s life style or ethics of living. Since from long ago centuries one can see there were different cultures. And with respect to time and cross cultural activities it’s changing on. But still human ethics, morals are common, most of the people follow their basic cultural act like family, art, worship, festivals, respect of senior. Due to technology all cultures are coming closer and recognizing that basic of all cultures is same to live happy, healthy, peaceful life. People learns each others cultures like music, art, dance..

I don't think that our culture is in danger.... Actually we are shifting from the old rich cultural heritage to the new, making the one stronger to face current scenario. First of all, just think what is the definition of culture? It is a set of rules, guidelines, practices to live in a society, effective from ancient times before civilisation by some wise people, for the whole uncivilised population. So while designing these rules, all the things, comprising social practices, human inter-relations, weather, livelihood, earnings, man-woman relations all taken into account for that time. Today we are living in a different era. I think today's generation is far more adaptive to face challenges in life, career. They have realised this life far better. Quality of life has become rich. They are aware of the things/happenings around them. They have widened the perspectives. Its very difficult to take and carry the past things “as is how is”. Economy has given them all the freedom to be like a king size. Everyone wants to customize things as per his present lifestyle for comfort, peace and it should be. Coz Ancient time’s rules can’t fit today. Today would anyone prefer to have a ride in bullock-card when one can fly in the skies? So isn’t it a need to make, customize things, the so called culture as per today’s time? . This is bound to happen as we are moving ahead at a very high speed. Everyone wants to make their dreams come true whereas in the past, things were different, no one would have dared to get the material successes in their early 40’s. As a result, someone get addictions to cope up with the inabilities, failures, and frustrations. Someone may want to enjoy, celebrate their success stories. At this time we need to balance here n there. Only the thing one should keep in mind in today’s situation that what is harmful, what is beneficial, how can I respect others, their interests. Female’s liberation too has come to a noticeable stage. Now they too have equal rights. They have the existence, independence. They too think independently and take their moves further to take their decisions on their own. So why we get surprised to see them in different and equal share? Instead we are saying they are breaking the cultures! Majority population would take this point in account of breaking cultural barriers, violating traditional values. Today, everyone wants his empire, wealth, power, luxury and following. In the course, very few principled humans go to achieve the goals through proper paths, rest goes by hook or crook violating, corrupting the system. This is bound to happen! Still we say that we are breaking our culture/traditions? Final take: Change is inevitable. Change is ever time. Change is life. Do we look the same as what in the childhood? Do we have the same quality health as what our ancestors had?!!! Only the difference that how take this change, constructive for all!? It’s a matter of one’s virtues! We have to take goodness, adjustable values from our rich cultural heritage, bring them together with your newly adapted ones, I am sure we, the Indians will ahead across the world. LIVE n LET LIVE!!!

technology is a leveler, it's an enabler. take the mobile phone revolution for instance, a CEO has it , so does a cleaner. tech nology can be used both ways.. it depends on what u want to do with it. culture is is ur identity. if u know urself well, no body can take it away from u

What kind of question is this?? Internet is a make believe world. In here you can be a Julius Ceaser or a Cleopatra, who is going to question it?? All that happens in here remains here. How can we allow this influence to forget our culture?? Has anyone stopped celebrating Diwali or Ganesh festival?? Is Durga Pooja forgotten?/ Are porn stars celebrated openly as a radical change in culture?? I think it is a very feeble excuse for a person to even offer if he lets internet actions as his life style!! I cannot think how can we even relate to culture with internet?

I don't feel it is endangered because, this digital age where we have so many social networking sites and a huge amount of knowledge and exposure at hand, i feel we are more together, we get more chances to come in contact with different people and in such ways by sharing our view and thoughts we are indirectly sharing the culture of each other. Because the basic thinking and attitude of a person depends on what his culture is, his interaction will just let others know about it and i think in that sense digital age is helping a lot!!

There is a change in the way we think and more openess in the culture compare to earlier days. There are lots of study, exchange of opinions, study of good things are different culture due to e-age of informations. Now the cultures are more open, debated for different practices, trying to find out the value of actions, belives, faith, etc. There may be transformation of culture but it can't be lost. Indians are studying and a bit addopting the western cultures and western people are studying the India/Asian cultures and addopting the good things.

I don't believe that the future of culture is endangered. I agree to Ms.Lakshmi that web has changed the way people think and behave. But it is in a good way. People now tries to show case their culture on internet. Culture and art will gain importance through the digital medias, because culture is the backbone of mankind.
