I don't think so that Delhi will be able to host the Games successfully and nothing of buzz is there lately surrounding the games, this is a big event and Indians performed very well in the last edition in these Games, considering the fact that there is less than a year, there is no such news regarding the Games..and with this i guess there is no such anticipation from the public for this, by this time they should have started promoting the Commonwealth games all over the country and it is so evident that there is nothing happening, i think they will not maintain the standard in these games and surely this would hamper the olympic bid they are trying.

Be optimistic friends, at any cost it should be a success. We are going to host a world class sporting we as Indians should support it eventhough we know that there is so many factors which we dont like as real citizens that affecting the progress of works. Delhi is going for a sea of changes in view of CWG by opening of its Terminal 3 of airport with world class standard like retail outlets, prayer room, hospitality zone wheel chairs and 118m walkalotors. Most importantly travel within Delhi will be easier with Metro rail, radio cabs and low floor A/c buses with Wifi connectivity running to 17 locations.

By the time of CWG they will open 5 roads from airport to different parts of the city with smooth flow of traffic.

I believe yes. Delhi has got all the modern facilities to host these games. It has proven itself by hosting the Asiad games.

Yes Delhi will be able to host the commonwealth games successfully. Things will fall in place. I have seen that happening earlier also during the Asiad. There is no need to panic & be a pessimist in the guise of being a realist. Those of you have that have the experience of opening a brand new 5 star hotel will be able to understand what I am trying to tell. On the eve of the deadline to open, most laymen would bet their last rupee that the hotel wont open, but things do fall in place at the nth hour.

Thanks dinesh for raising such debate.

I know most of us have the positive thinking toward it and I appreciate that. I am also looking ahead for the same. But also like to share the things.

First, the progress of construction has already lagged behind the scheduled time. Reason only is less concerned government and their delayed approval of the projects. Hopefully it will get completed well befor time so that no accident should happen at that pick time.

Second, due to delayed progress, result is massive traffic problem. No one knows which route to take next day. Resulting in lengthening of the travelling time.

Next, is there anyone whow knows about the preparation of Indian participants.

Next, promotions are yet to satrt completely, yeah ofcourse some promotion could be seen here and there.

Next, the number of visitors expected during the pick time will be in millions and the question is where will they stay? Ofcourse gvmnt has come with some gud ideas like HomeStays...but are they suuficient to accomodate them. More and more hotels rooms will be required at that time and support of the neighour states will play significant role.

No one knows exactly how much our gvmnt is concerned. We can hear politicians speaking against each other but never have heard they are unitely speaking about how they are thinking towards successfully hosting the event.

Anyways, whether I am speaking against or for, I would be as glad and happy as the rest of the Indians will be.

Delhi is legging behind the schedule of all the projects that were to be completed by the end of this year.So i don't think that delhi will be ready to host the games in 2010.There are still lots of work to be done on stadiums, metro projects, transport system etc..

India (Delhi) has the potential but the question arise will they be able to execute their potential on time. Will almost all the projects underway (none of them is complete) it seems quite unrealistic, with time ticking up almost a year in hand a big question mark (?) is there 'WILL DELHI BE ABLE TO HOST THE GAMES SUCCESSFULLY' ??????????????
