No...demand for diamonds has shown consistent growth over the past three years, but diamonds pale before gold in terms of investment returns for reasons ranging from ambiguities over pricing to grading and buyback opportunities. Missing price mechanism Diamonds, unlike gold, lack a standard benchmark pricing and are often sold at the asking rate.

As far as i think gold is better option than diamonds in many ways ...one is in context of India it is traditionally attached rather than diamond so there is more demand of Gold also keeping in mind the Indian population & Income that is directly or indirectly affects demand for gold.So i think it`s better option to investment in long term in gold.

the main thing which should be considered while investing is Liquidity i.e we convert our investment into cash when needed and gold is easily convertible in cash as compared to diamond.
