Social networking is now a days more than networking. It has become more of billboards where people can express what they are in to , what they gonna do, what they like etc. I think micro sites like tweeter like take over if facebook is not innovating more (like they brought games into social networking). By the way, who got time to go through pages of updates everyday from your 100 odd connections?

I certainly agree with you Neelam. I really get bored off by same updates. It is a fantastic social networking site and every one is flaunting away his high status life style by photos. Practically saturation point has reached at times weget bored off. But my wifereally enjoys it. Every now and then she is busy in making new friends and uploading the recent photos so that she could impress her high status friends.

of course there is no doubt facebook has reached a saturation point, today we can see any gprs phone to have direct link facebook, facebook has connected common people to stars, media and there's not much left to achieve apart from public security issues

Facebook is a very popular social networking site. It has a huge customer base. However, on account of privacy issues and other factors, its growth is being limited to a certain extent. Additionally, other social networking sites are beginning to grow. Thus, Facebook may be facing a limit in its growth. However, if it is able to re-invent itself and do better than its competitors, then it may grow further. As Malcolm Gladwell puts it - If the tipping point is reached, then it is difficult to stop the growth. But if other factors do not work in its favor, then it will also not be able to grow further......

Yes, now facebook is reaching to saturation point, actually as Neelam said there are no more updations in facebook. We all know that one day every thing will reach to its saturation, now this time facebook. Only games are not the part of updation, updates should be some technical...

Facebook has emerged as the better social networking site than orkut n twitter. Though twitter is also growing at a fast pace but in this only tweets is available where as in facebook one can enjoy apps n many more... so i dont think facebook to be on saturating point..

Indeed Facebook has become the focal point of people's lives and business especially web based ones. Web based business models are reliant on Facebook to spread a word about their products and services.

Facebook is re-inventing itself everyday and its usage is increasing not just because people want to catch up with their friends but also because people are finding different ways to put it to use. The fact that the founder is a software geek who is still involved with the coding of new features certainly gives confidence that Facebook is yet to reach its saturation point. But I would certainly say that Facebook has become more commercial in nature and reaping the benefits from its huge user base.
