Is Flat Slab or Ribbed Slab System of Building Structure Economical and Durable ?

I agree. With the kind of construction that is in demand today, I think a Ribbed Slab is a better option.

2) Durable

3)More ceiling hieght can be achieved as beams are flat(same as thickness of slab).

The only problem with ribbed slab is it require accurate construction & it is time consuming as compare to flat slab.

the system itself is economical because flat slab is doubly reinforced. but if we consider the volume utilazation of space flat slab is economical.

ribbed slab is no doubt  durable.....bt d choice between des 2 can nly be made after knowin d nature of d structure.....i mean if its large span stru. v need to go for flat slab...coz it suits d best for it....even economical dan ribbed slabs.....

for a genral small or medium span struc...ribbed slab is d best option...
