The 'Father of the nation' who had a considerable role to play in the country's Independence movement, was a champion of non-violence. The pioneer of satyagraha -- resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience -- Gandhi emphasized on morality, non violence, equality and cottage industries. Desperate times, however, call for desperate measures.

Is Gandhi still relevant today? Do his ideals work?

Gandhiji is very much relevant today and we are directly or indirectly following his footsteps to make the world a peaceful place to thrive. 90% of the world population live through non-violence and 10% create all the chaos. What would be the other way round, the world would be in utter mess.

No. Be it the politicians or the films that are made around this theme all are concerned about highlighting his word only and not his morals.Once the khadi was used for serenity national integration and for value based politics. The current leaders are using this costume only to lure the innocent. In the name of Gandhiji they are cheating the people.
