Yes, google will stay at top of the web search. It is easy to browse and searches the related words at faster speed than other search engines. Google is the only site which gives you easy access to the world wide highways for internet. As far as I experienced, google is the fastest website to provide the suitable results.

yes they are taking a bit granted and enterprises who are going with google applications will be most affected and most of them have these applications as paid service, and these kind of outages have impacted a lot. a company of Google stature to have these kind of technical problems is a surprise to see, but hope they solve these things quickly and make sure these outages are not seen anymore.

yes , this is the second time in this month and Google should look into the outage. Google being one of the most commonly used website in the world should be cautious on the service provided. Even a second of failure affects millions of people. So Google is getting complacent day by day.

The famous Murphy's Law applies everywhere. I believe, Google would have taken care of their premium paid customers. Those who are on public domain, after all, are not bound by any commitment, therefore, at the mercy of Google Inc. These outages are not uncommon for those who use public email accounts! Google is not an exception! CAVEAT - USE PUBLIC DOMAIN EMAILs FOR PERSONAL PURPOSE ONL!

Yes, may be they are complacent but may be there are some other issues also just like, due to more competition about launching the new services they are working more towards it and every service provider wish to launch its service first, so they too in hurry due to this they are providing more man power, technical power and the assets to the new one and the less to the existing one, and now facing the issues.

They have taken a bite, and it seems it's too large to chew. Still, I find that premium users have not suffered, but those who use free services. But that too is going to take it's toll. There are gestation issues they'll have to resolve really fast, or people will lose their patience. Overall I want to believe that they'll come out of this phase soon enough. The r&d team is working overtime and introducing goodies at a brisk pace. It's just wait & watch for now.

I don't think Google expects to get complacent. Their revenues did go down with the recession although marginally, so believe me they would do everything to avoid complacency. My guess is that they will surf/ride the wave of social network boom rather oppose or churn it.

I think this is a one off case, i dont think this is good enough for us to conclude that google has becoming complacent. I understand a solution which goes down even once is looked at with doubts all the time but over the last so many years we have seen what google solutions have done for the tech world and the way they are a part of everybody's life. I think this is too small issue for doubting Google's stability.
