Partially true.. Google is demoting forced/lesser informative results without considering their topic relevancy or basic search engine marketing factors. Google search results methodology is being change and now every search engine wants to give informative / exact URL with real content to its visitors. The reason is to promote revenue proposition at paid results as well as to get competitive edge in terms of daily visitor count; only good search results may enhance the visitor fall at search engine

agreed that spam has increased and all the other stuff but at the same time Google has grown in its intelligence about undestanding its users better .BRowsers are very powerful today (thanks to HTML 5 and its growing adoption ).For Google to give the best results it needs to know a lot more than the query ,it needs to know the person ,his location, happenings around him etc... Compare this with mobile phones equipped with GPS , so a simple query of weather will give the weather at that specific location , and this is just beginning. For best results AI needs enormous computational power, input from all relevant sources ( read sensors), and algorithms doing the number crunching on the above , Google has all this and perhaps in future might become the Skynet :)

It's not Google but it is web rating, keywords and page header content that rates your page on Google or other search engines. Search engine involvement in individual web ranking is very much difficult because they earn much more in routine business than by this type of malpractice. We as user can report a website as spam to Google.

Hi Amrita while you are correct in your observations - Google does have algorithms that flags Spam matter. They have lots of control and identification logic and programming towards spamming matter. However it is true that things do go on - and it is continuous process of upgrading their system.
Lets see how things go.
