Maoists have recently threatened to attack big cities like Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar if the government does not announce talks immediately with them. They even have threatened that Maoists are completely prepared for a long term battle with the government and very confidently said they have even said that they will be overthrowing Indian government before 2050.

We have already seen the power of Maoism, which has not been controlled, has overthrown Nepal's Kingdom. This incident is not a small indication. In the recent days, the increase in Maoist attacks in different parts of India has been increased a lot because of which even government is facing many problems to control them. Government today doesn't seem to be powerful enough to control their attacks.

Does it mean Government's anti-Naxal drive a failure one? What do you think friends?

The daily increase in the power of maoists shows that they are gaining power and the government is failing to confront them. To hide their defeat, Government is just trying to divert the attention of people of the main problem.

Had it been a failure, India's condition would have been like Nepal till now. Why we are forgetting, our military power which is the 4 strongest defence power in the entire world! A country possessing such a power, do you think its future will be in the hands of a few rebel "adivasis"? Thats so funny. Whatever statements the tribals have given till now is just to inject fear in the mind of the government before time. If they are so powerful, why are they doing gorilla war? why don't they come for head on collision?

You have highlighted a question which is of immence importance. Govt. of India and specially our PM has identified the Maoists the prime threat of 'internal security'. Question : may we loose to the Maoists when our country is ruled by Democracy ? Only answer : No.and

Problem is : a section of the (city/town) middle class intelengecia keep sympathy to them and supply them fund & support as has been witnessed inWBengal. We have seen weeknesess also from two CMs each from Bihar & Jharkhand.

The Maoists have time and again (practically) refused to lay down arms and talk to Govt. over their isses. They are banking on "underdevelopment" but trying to blockade 'development' so that they may draw the poor people to their fold and equip them with arms - they pay average Rs.2,000-00 per head p.m. to the young, age 12 to 22 to work for them.

Apart from using the forces as "Joint Forces" from Central and State Govts as a co-ordinated team from the affected states, all attemps should be taken to isolate the Maoists from the (support) of the general mass.

Yes .. development is MUST but for that peace is a precondition.

Well It is not easy to destroy a group like Maoist in India. See the case in Srilanka with  Tigers or The world against Taliban The more u control these organisation on the civilian way, it will grow in another way and keep establishing. Until a man decide himself none can stop him from doing a crime. We need to educate more discipline to our citizens for for a better future of the nation.

First of all i would make a correct to your statment yash sir . the naxalities are not necessarily ADIWAISES as you wrote. If any group grow rebellious ( the village people) against government that donest mean that they are adiwasi. adiwasi is a tribe that represent backward people.

Now as you said we have the powerful military force. than why dont the govement take suitable action and save the innocent village people who lose there lives. Our goverment and politicans are not directly killed by them as they are under high security. Have u ever visited the place which is a naxalite effect area. if u have than surely u can see the terror in the eyes of villagers. we can only sit and debate on the topic but have u ever realised that there has been no development in the interiors. if we have gorilla force than i would request my government to save the people and drive out the naxalites. what have been they waiting for? waiting for few more destruction and brutality.????????????

If you and the government thinks that the statements that tribal people have given are injecting fear in the mind of government than surely the government is a weak player. I dont say they are powerful but government has still not overcome the critical circumstances of these areas. Naxalites are few but the play smart.

The anti- naxal drive had no special effect on the attacks of the naxalites. The government are actually helping them out to grow well and spread their threat. Few years back Government formed a group of villagers called "SALWAJUDAM" to fight back naxalism. but the result turn out to be more pathetic as they become another trouble for tourists and the local people. The government also provided them with accomodations by cutting a large area of forest. Instead of this the government should focus more on how to drag the naxalites. Such measures wont help to overcome the unrest created by these few people called naxalites.
