Is Green Project Management the Wave of the Future?

Now a days going green has become a topic that is becoming difficult to ignore and almost every profession seems to have started applying new concept of green standards in their projects.Is Green Project Management the Wave of the Future?

In my opinion the Green Project Management concept is growing globally and the number of organizations who have become certified in environmental standards are also increasing. Project team has started taking steps to recycle and reduce the use of resources which include reducing the amount of documentation that is printed, where companies have invested in enterprise project management systems, leveraging these systems and any work flow capabilities to receive approvals etc

I don't think green project management will work in future because in every project this green concept cannot be adopted. Here any decision taken in a project should be taken keeping the environment in mind and the impact it creates to the organization. So it would be difficult to apply green concept to every project and some times if we go green every time it would effect the performance of the company.
