Long way to go. It is not sufficient to have big market to surive. Manage the Assets such as finance, Machinery, amd most importantly Human Resouces(I would like to call Human Resouces also as Asset as it requires great balancing , human touch.) Even though u have Money, Market , product without proper HR management it is impossible to survive in the long. I would like to add one more line. Human Resources should be HANDELED WITH CARE as HR is torch bearer for keeping up thr tempo of growth.

India is under the impression that, we survived the crisis on account domestically driven economy but, are trying to ignore the driving force behind all this. Had there been no & IT+ITES & Outsourcing sector, imagine the scenario without this sector then our growth is negative. Major consumption is in and by these sectors and allied and or ancillary activities as well as the direct & indirect employment generated by the same. Therefore, Arrogance for no achievement of our own may make India vulnerable.

a LITTLE arrogance does help in making others take you seriously!! The question is how to keep it LITTLE? As far as domestically driven economy, if you give it some thought, you will realise that it is a fate of all economies in the service sector.

Thanks for the referral, Natteraja.... India has a long way to go before it can be bracketed in the category of high handedness. Surviving a crisis demonstrates confidence, resilience and an ability to withstand tremors. In a parallel context, despite the overt and covert measures adopted by the neighboring countries to destabilize the nation, there have been no major high handed steps adopted by us to curb such actions. Thus, India as a country is to be viewed as a country that is confident and able to withstand any major tremors....

Hi Arun, you are right that outsourcing sector is major part of it. But nobody is doing this for favor. It is business. Why do people outsource to India even after some governments are making tons of rules and arrangements for not to outsource and give job to their own citizens? After-all hard work pays. We deserve much more returns than actual. It is only flexibility that we are accepting it as it is and still surviving. If we think other-way round, more the laws are made against outsourcing, more our people need to work hard and people who outsource to us are real beneficiaries of this cycle. They know business and obviously think of profit all the time. Where does overall % of benefit goes? And then also we are surviving. We all deserve to at-least celebrate this.

i wouldnt term it 'arrogant' but we are more easy with our environment which gives us a better platform to voice our views and concerns..whether we are heard or not is another issue. Hope we dont get carried away with this new 'confidence'

We are getting a bit more confident - for example the IT industry top honchos response to the Ohio outsource ban. I believe that we need to be far more confident to be a world-class economy, but that takes vision, effort and time... Performance up to about 2 years down the crash is not enough - excellence also demands consistency amongst all stakeholders. Sorry, but I'm not clear why you say arrogant Namrata - that word has a negative shade. What did we do to be called arrogant? If we did anything like that then surely a course correction is called for.

I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS... IT WOULD BE STEP MOTHERLY TREATMENT, almost like ( their Blood is Blood & our Blood is Water ). WHAT IS ARROGANCE IN THIS ? We are simply gpoing ahead & progressing in Business. I am still waiting for the day when 1 INR will be Equal to 50 DOLLARS. Maybe we shall have this debate then. Right now it is futile. Lets work hard & go ahead n ahead n ahead...
