Its a big time hurdle people, and cricket is the reason why football has not caught up in India, everybody wants to be a cricketer and not a footballer, as the career and glamour is not there, and everybody wants that, hence we see football struggling and cricket flourishing like anything, as everybody knows how much a cricketer earns in India, its the highest pay scale in the cricketing world at the moment and even parents give their kids a bat & a ball than a football to play.

How can it logically be a hurdle... your neighbours earning millions shouldnot be a hurdle for u to earn a million for u...its just a sad accusation on this fantastic game.

Australians have a gr8 cricket team, even a gr8 hockey team (men /women included)...thy dnt cry foul.

Cricket wasnt glamourous whn it started in India. It has earned itself the place, where people got attracted nd wanted to relate themselves with cricket. Cricket never asks ne1 to join it.

The ones who love football should promote it the way cricket lover promoted cricket... they can take a leaf out of it... but do we really have that much quality football players...Indian Cricket has produced legends in World cricket... bcoz of them indian cricket has been famous... BCCI wasnt the richest body in India.. they had ambitous people who administrated it & made it reach the position where cricketer from other nation gets attracted... Football & Hocket bodies can have sch die hard ambitious ppl to administor it, run it professionally to make it big... they wont get newhr juss by throwing mud on cricket... accusing cricket will juss add on the negative attitude of theirs...

Its not! Why we only talk about football then? We have ample traditional games to play like kabbadi, kho-kho etc. which are still played in rural areas and even sometimes in urban areas. But due to excessive promotion we think Cricket as most likely/ loveable game ... that is too in urban areas.

No I don't believe so that Cricket is really a hurdle to Indian Football. Every game has its feel and enjoyment.If people likes cricket it does not mean cricket is hurdle in Football,its due to crickets charm and speciality. Cricket or cricket players have never asked anyone to dislike the Football. Please try to make football famous and let people know something about the Football so that they can take interests. Blaming some game for other is not a good habit and not a quality of good sports player.

defintely not,  because every game has their own flavour.  somebody fail to flame the fragnance, but they shine with the same for their own. thats the main reason to fail any game to compete with other populor game.  we should not blame other games.
