This issue is to be handled differently. Today, in the era of chauvinism (not male), every politician require a paraphernalia of police force to move around with them and guard them. Mainly, therefore, a number of police man required to guard public is too thin these days, as many of the existing force is pressed into service to guard them. Once a person is attached to a political big-wig, he also picks up the nuance of corrupt practices, and in many of the cases they were forced to be party to such practices. Once a person tastes that, he is then freed from moral fear of getting caught as he also becomes a part of a very big system. This percolates down to a deeper level. Apparently, the woes of common man is still continuing unattended. If pressed, he / she is harassed. So the problem lies elesewhere, we are trying to find fault on the police system.

Indian police are well know for their corruption , anti public attitude and laziness, what better way to suggest the way 26/11 Terror attacks were countered it took police more than 1 hour to understand the peopel who were firing were nto underworld but trained terrorist and once they came to know of the same they just vanished in thin air, barrringa few officers other were in meeting and not reachable. We are afriad of terror attacks we have bigegr terrorist in our country the corrupt police officers

"One Bad Apple Spoil The Barrel" and we have so many bad apples in our system. And we are human being, we comment/criticize on those part To whom we are victims or heard somewhere. All these things turned us to say the same. If we have thousand of positive example then we have millions of negative examples also. That is why Indian police failed to create trust among people.

Medini, i think you should get personal experience then only you would come to know about that worst experience. I am pretty sure you will be agree with me. As far as Bad things concern, it's tendancy of the whole world to make our universe as much as nice. so it is more important to make attention to bed things and make them useful.

Indian police has failed since it is operating at the mercy of politicians. secondly it is the part of entire corrupt indian govt. machinery. our system is infected with HIV of corruption , peolple with INTEGRITY are crushed by their seniors , there is hardly any JUSTICE prevalent , what to talk of Justice when judges are for sales , you hardly get JUSTICE. Yes we DO HAVE GOOD , HONEST prople but their tribe is decreasing day by day.

There is a good saying in Urdu which describes this point more clearly " Jab paida hui pulice toh Iblis (the demon) ne kaha, aaj hum bhi ho gaye hai bhaiya sahabe aulad" explanation : When the Police were inducted to establish Law & order in the Society the demon was the very excited & spoke with utmost cheer that today, I have become a proud father, since I have been gifted with a Son (Police) The Law & its contitution is so rigid & inflexible for the Common Man (CM), that the earthly demons harass the CM & twist it & use it for their vested interests & to generate a healthy second source of income

There is a nice saying in Urdu "Jab paida hui Pulice to Iblis(Demon) ne kaha - aaj hum bhi hogaye hai bhaiya sahebe aulad" When Police were inducted into the Society to establish Societal norms, Law & order, the demon felt very elited & he merrily stated, that great, now I am also a proud father of a son The problem is not our not following the Law, but our ignorance towards it, which is exploited by the earthly demons. Indian Law & its constitution should be made more user friendly & flexible. No one likes to disobey the Law, but then the Law should also not be so rigid, so that people with vested interests like Police can twist it to harass people & make it a source of their second income

Yes , police is only use full when they will get opportunity like riots and the chance to charge against people. They are not able to prove any kind of case, they fails to bring the believe that they are able .They are very eager to trouble people. I think police has a success only 1/100 .

Though not completely but yes up to great extent our police has lost the trust of masses. The common men feels better to settle disputes out side the police station rather going to them. The rampant corruption in the police services has further eroded the image. There are many police personnel who are honest. The political nexus makes things even bad.

Totally, they've lost all the respect and support, nothing gets done easily with the police, if you report something they ask money do their work, and traffic police there is nothing left to explain these people hide near the road and then come and stop us and ask for money for stupid reasons, all this is happening because the payscale which is very low in the police sector or it should be too much of greed that has crept in....and now coming to some serious issues, there will be thousands of police personnel at a venue but still bombs go off, the recent case in the Bangalore cricket stadium,,,there is no proper co-ordination or seriousness when the incident has happened, nobody knows how to handle a situation like this and have no tools or training for that matter to counter act, they just stand and watch and take on innocent public at times..

I totally agree with what Mr. Medini Nautiyal has said, we are always exposed to negative news by media and as well our remembrance. We don't try or like to remember and think of good activities and things which was done by our police men we always want to talk about and fight on wrong things which happened. There are many examples to showcase on about good things. They are creating trust but we are not ready to accept it. We have to change ourselves and think in unbiased way.

Good, though oft repeated topic, Anurag, Are the police coming from another planet? Policemen or officers are all Indian related to some, friends of others. In short from amongst us only. Do we ever reflect in our family or social interactions this reflected lack of trust. And are the police alone, whom we do not trust? We must ask ourselves these questions, and may be we already know the answers. As long as we as citizens of this country fail to learn or lessons and attach due value to ethics and morality.... and not money this may not be correctable. The unfortunate part is, we as a country are obsessed with money and quick routes to obtain luxuries and do not ever care about where and how? Unrestricted Powers with policemen being easily available makes them use this trait much more.

"There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working against for you. " while creating scams and ghotala's we the people dont demand to be safe we think its okay if our houses are safe until the neighbours go boom but we dont and tell the people how safe were we even a battalion of police force wont do anything unless we act .

I personally think that it is contrary,we civilians dont trust police and it is like a common norm. But who is to shoulder the blame ultimately? We the people. The law,the entire system including the police adminstration is in the hands of our corrupt politicians. The proper functioning of police department is highly constrained due to political pressure.I just want everybody to know that.At every step of the administration, either there is intervention from a local MLA or an MP..And who chooses these fools?-We the people. And who suffers eventually?-We the people. It is all a vicious circle.Common man is more accountable

Anurang good debate.....but I don't agree because they did not fail to create trust but we failed to trust them. Everyone say that police department is the hub of corruption but the main reason for that is we who don't follow the rules & regulation and pay bribe to overcome it. And this has become a habit today. According to me police mens can always be trusted.............
