Yes it is. Today we have come to a situation where nothing is worth without an internet. We depend on it badly, where it doesn't even allows us to think, showing the results as fast as it can. That too the emergence of social networking has made people go mad...

Yes i truely agree as I am also one of them. It is not only a pasttime for the youth but also for more matured persons who are older than youths also. I feel it is the simplest way to be in touch with the people u work for.

Mr. Pradyumna you are right to some extent but please tell me how many youth live in village..??? I think this debate is about whole youth of India, and I think most of youth live in urban area. Now a days rural area's youth also living in urban area bcoz of study.. Now a days many young ppl are educated and very well aware about internet and its benifits. So 65-70% of Indian youth is using internet..

What fishing net is to fishermen, Internet is to men like me and you...it has become an inseparable part of our lives so much so that we tend to feel restless without it...We, net-oholics are so intoxicated with its abundant information and beauty that we begin to treat them part of our lives...

Yes.Net has crept into our lives without any exception. Every section of the humanity all over the world is brought under this very very BIG umbrella.Every one of us is the direct beneficiary of this facility. Now, we have come to such a state that we can not imagine how/what the life would be without it ( if a crash were to occur!!)

Why only youth, the entire generation! Elders chat with their near and dear ones settled abroad and away from them; children have their own account in facebook; youth, as usual, romanticise with their girl friends, vice-versa; middle aged use it for gaining knowledge; those who fail to afford formal education use this medium to get educated online; and last but not the least, housewives gather knowledge about various recipies of the world - in all, internet is a God-sent medium, acting like angel for every remedy, be it education, health, sanitation, natural disasters, environment, ecology, philanthraphy, religion, scientific research, tourism, human resource, banking, insurance, entertainment and many more....

Yes. Based on current trends, Internet is one of the favorite pastimes, albeit by default in some cases as currently, most of the activities can be done through the internet.

However, the reach of the internet in the rural areas has to be improved if the internet has to truly have a chance of becoming the favorite pastime of youths.

Thanks for the referral, Bipasha...
