Apple Inc's iPhone is the most desired device among users shopping for smartphones, beating the BlackBerry and Google Inc's Android as consumers prepare for the holiday season. In a survey of US shoppers looking for a smartphone, 30 per cent said they wanted to buy an iPhone, according to a Nielsen survey from August through October. Phones running Google's Android software placed second with 28 per cent.

Can iphone remain on the top with stiff competition from other phones?

From the time iphone is come in the market there have been a number of people who want to own one. Yes it the best phone which is available in the market even though there are other competitor's in the market. In my opinion iphone will remain on the top and rule the market.

Although there are not many takers for iphone in India compared to US, UK & Europe due to it’s high end price. Instead many users are switched to other smart phone options like Blackberry, Samsung etc with improved features at price that is justified.

One of the major problem that I face using an iPhone is the facility of multi-tasking. I can't open multiple applications at a time, which I can easily do in a Win Mobile or an Android phone Sounds simple, but yes its a problem not just with iPhone but even with iPad

No, Because iphone is a costlier and Indian peoples prefer to low cost like TATA NANO CAR and 70% people are poor in the country so it is high desired for wealth-est peoples not for middle level and low level peoples.

It's not a little ironic that Apple's initial popularity grew as almost a protest against Microsoft's dominance of the software market and yet here they are locking people into anything starting with the letter "i". If you talk to any of the sheep who blindly buy into Apple's iCon they are of the belief that Apple invented home computing, flat screen and touch screen technology and portable music and video. In fact, all Apple have done is packaged existing products in such a way that buyers feel "sophisticated" (yes I know a person can't be sophisticated). A bit like owning an Audi TT!

Android is the way to go and has millions of activations of every day . The thing to be done now is to rapidly accelerate the innovations in the mobile space both by th eoEM's and the software vendors . It all depends who delivers NFC (near feild communication) chips, LTE or wimax connectivity etc... and it isn't just about one device or one service , we need altogether a group of partners to work together . Android in that respect is well placed . I am sure th future will witness Android as the ultimate Embedded OS running on a variety of devices .
