The entry of a new product in the market creates customer interest and it definitely will impact Nokia. The launch of Apple’s 3G iPhone in India could see more people switching to the touch and motion sensing capabilities of the cool handset.

With the latest iPhone’s snappier which has better sound quality, location-aware navigation, and third-party application store is a definite threat to Nokia's dominance and new owners are awaiting and will grab it for sure.

Apple iPhone might have an impact on the high end handsets to an extent given the features it offers compared to the handsets available in the market today. But even that cannot end the dominance of Nokia in the Indian market since it enjoys a mark of trusted and tried brand among the consumers. Nokia product range is too large and the contribution of high end handsets are very minimal and their support network is pretty extensive so a customer will keep all this in mind before making a brand shift to Apple which has a very limited presence in the country

Hi deepa, I don't think so iphone will be any where near Nokia in terms of unit sales because it has absolute dominance of the low-end market in India, with 79% market share. iPhone is not even an issue in this market, because of its astronomical price-point. I see very small sliver of Nokia’s business will get impacted by the iPhone in the foreeable future that too in the higher segment and to counter that Nokia is coming up with its phone codenamed 'Tube'.
