According to me, if you have a capability to learn then college never matters but yes to mention in your degree or resume it matters. if you have a zeal to go ahead then your learning will be first priority.

I don't think so it is advisable to join some other course in a good college, you wanted to something else and you are doing something else at the moment, why do you  want to compromise on your dreams, just because you didn't get a great college. Why don't you work around it and join the course which you wanted in not that great college and work towards striking it big with some good scores at hand, If you are behind job and only  money its ok you can go join a great college and a course which you never intended to do...but if you dont want to compromise, you need to work hard to what you want to get...

if you look for a job then it is a big matter. Now a days campus selection is a big factor, easy way to build a career.Allmost all companies look for top most rated college only .sometimes thry never look for how able he is.Main factor is its very difficult to get into those colleges. How ever the branches doesnt matter anything as we seeing now a days.If you dont matter about job my opinion is to join any college you like .

Exposure of studying in top rated colleges will be different. All courses are equal there is nothing like top branches or weak branches

I think it is advisable, Because reputation of the college and facilities are the things which matter the most at the time of interview. Eg. if you done MBA from non-reputed college, there are chances that interviewer might become skeptical.

I think it is advisable. because the college brand name will be useful for the students in getting their jobs. They will be provided with good labs, libraries ,faculty, placements.

I agree with sarika.

It is not acceptable.everyone have their own passion.they can choose their course in some other college which is not available in top rated college.

Ultimately we have to  study with passion which gives extra mileage when we learn and perform. It is ultimately passion for the subject which makes aperson master in the subject.
