Is it fair that Google Search will give emphasis to G+ stuff in the search?

Google has declared that it will be giving priority to g+ in search . Most of us use Google as search engine and are mostly interested in few top results for our search but if it shows g+ stuff in top searches it will mean we will have to find another way of search. So should Google do this big compromise for g+ which does not have much strength to attract people and by doing so loose even the users of its search engine?

I know there are many other search engines available but google definitely tops the list for many of us. By doing this it will become harder for us and hence we too might switch to other search engines. Google for sure cannot afford that because it is largely famous for its search engine power.

there is a very big misconception in the market abt google and g+ both are one & the same just the difference is google will be used as yellow pages as well as a search engine & G+ would be used as a site which provides both addresses as well as maps and even the routes to any specific location in particular segments of the globe

It's too early to debunk google+. One need to wait and see its efficiency. Till then Google ought to give equal weightage to both. It cannot be a case of killing one child to feed another. A separate strategy will have to be worked out for Google+ so that it doesnt cannibalise google search.

Google definitely tops in the search engine business. But that doesn't give freedom to implement something and promote their own technology or tools. Search results should be helpful for a wide range of people in the spectrum. I think they should seriously rethink on giving emphasis to G+ as using G+ companies can manipulate their rankings.

its bit too much to ask, but when constrained we always find solutions. If Google is too demanding then we look at other metacrawlers and they would come to limelight from obscurity...

Its like you are standing in front of the mirror with your favorite clothes on and your one of your admirer comes and tell u "boss please dont wear this, I dont like it"... I believe Google has every right to emphasize its own brand...It should not matter whether who likes or dislikes it!! if you like it use it, if not use another search engine!! Google is in internet; internet is not in google!!

As search engine Google is ver big as well as Wikipedia too. G + is considering as social media where users sharing information, entertain etc. It cant work as search engine. And, yet G+ is taking position is market whereas Google is already built up strong brand.

There is nothing wrong in doing it because it a way of marketing and promoting their networking site. There are many people who are using Google Adwords to promote their business, then why can't google use their own domain to promote their sister network. And Google is the strongest and best search engine as of the day. Nobody is going to migrate to some other search engine if they promote G+ through google. Let us be practical. Regards, Anna George. Google want to corner bigger slice against the rising popularity of social site facebook.Though,it has a larger base or server,G+ may help you to direct the target.There is nothing wrong in their thinking and apportionment.

it is fair because google is a company if they are promoting there other product by using existing product(like google search) than it is fair enough. but the thing it that that content of G+ should not be so much that people forget about google search and start using other alternative.

Though there are too many search engines, we are habituated to use only google search engines most of the time. They are now promoting G+. They have every right to promote their own product. There is nothing wrong. However, Google should provide us the information asked for while promoting G+ but directing to G+ directly without providing information asked for will have a negative impact undoubtedly.
