For all those who work in IT field, whatever one works currently on is either because this was what you got it when you started the carrier, or one choose to do a specific job function and worked towards it.At some point in one's career, we would have to decide which way to go forward, before its too late. And one of the most common questions to answer is, whether to continue in technical path or switch to management. There are lot of pros and cons to it which we can discuss, to decide what is more appealing to make the switch.

You should choose according to ur intrest. No work is less important.Remember, only two kind of people become success, one who get work of their intrest and second who love to do whatever work assign to them.

Question doesnt make sense!!! You only "switch to Management" when you are in technical. Question is moreover biased for switching from "technical to management".. Moreover nobody can ever be complete without technology and management.. An engineer/technician manages the technologies he learned to implement it at correct time and place. You learn technology but we understand management from experience...

It is always about the choice of an individual. But Managerial skills combined with technical skills is as asset to the organization and also to the personal development of the individual towards handling responsibilities and leading from front in his career.

Whether Technical or Management is secondary, your interest towards the subject is primary. If you have interest in management, go for management courses like BBA, BBM etc and later go for MBA.. Now if you have a craze towards technology to courses like B.Tech, Diploma etc...It all depends on your interest. Do what tou like, you will succeed. Regards, Anna George, Web Analyst.
