firstly, taking in cue the present rupee to dollar ratio, studying abroad requires on an average 15 to 35 lakhs of outlay(depending upon the country and the course). if u stay here, you automatically are richer by a few lakhs as compared to foreign return lad. second, the education provided in any country is highly influenced by the customs and culture of that country. even if u study technology or medicine, whatever taught is generally not very relevant or practical outside the country or its neighboring regions..(especially if its US or EU) so it doesn't really give u a huge competitive edge against a decent indian educated lad/lady, who knows his subjects, and also India and its culture atleast 3-4 years more than you!!

Most of Indian courses does not give 'depth' in education. Here, its all about getting ranks in exams. So, to get in depth education, if opportunity arises, should leave.
