I guess it is important, because you need to understand what you leader or manager is telling regarding the project. But it does not mean you should be excellent in English, compared to the programing skill English is less important.......

Most Important. Yes English is now a days language of universe and it is important in all the fields. Specially if you want to connect with the MNC it always works and required. in IT Company for the job of web developer it is important but you should have that skill also.

I think, We do not have command on English language but I am able to complete my task whichever as a web developer. English not important 100% but 50 to 60 most important.
