Yes. It is possible, if we can join together. On my part, I am willing to leave my job and adopt a backward village and work for the betterment of the community. I am planning to go ahead in a year or two with or without anybody's support. Thank you Sarika Singh for the referral.

Lip service won't do! Organising a group this way will not be sustained in the long run. There was a concept, viz., "Moonlight School" started by some youth in a remote village 50 kms from Chennai. Their idea was to pool in the local talents to educate the deprived workers. They started this concept in a temple complex, after the temple's time was over. They are preparing students for VIII, X and XII standard. A number of local workers, who could not get formal education, started clearing exams. The study was mainly to help them clear the exams conducted by Open Schools. A number of them are studying B.A., B.Com. now through correspondence from various open universities. You can help poor children close to your area, this way, so that your interest level will be maintained. If you expect children from poor community will come to you in the networked manner, drop outs would be many. You have to feed them first. Unless and until their stomachs are full, you cannot teach them anything. Adopt a village closer to your home or college. Develop this concept talking to Panchayats - they would provide required space for conducting class rooms. Don't leave it mid-way, as your study progresses, your peer pressure and study pressure would also mount. If you have tenacity to withstand the pulls and pressures, you would gyrate this concept in a pragmatic way! I see in you a bright spot - a very thought of supporting the under-privileged would create wonders in future!

We just want to talk about making a network and do something for these children. But how many of us actually do it. Who has time to come up leave their priorities and work for them? Such things look good on cover pages of magazines and we appreciate those who do it but it is not practically possible for all of us to network and teach.
