Termination can be done by only giving 24hrs notice as per labours law.And unlimited leave may given to staff but he should be paid half salary.

Nalini there are other rules as well. It is not easy to terminate any one without notice and with proper case against him.

Your question is too ambiguous. Are you referring to permanent staff or contractual staff in the PSU or Government. Or, are you talking about daily wages labour force who are engaged for a specific task for a specific duration. In India, we have very stringent Labour Laws, Factories Act, 1948 and various other provisions to guard their interest. In most of the cases, many of them are covered under CITU, INTUC , etc. (Recognized Trade Unions). Please frame your specific question to get specific answer from toostep members!

NO and NO.It will be against natural justice that some body's services are terminated or be kept him or her without pay for unlimited time without affording opportunity to hear his or her case. I am totally against such summary punishments.
