I would rather put it safely by saying India is still emerging. they havent emerged fully because our business empire hasnt spread to different parts of the globe like the chinese have. Till we learn to take our enterprise to all corners of the globe fully and not just in select cities of Europe and US, we cant call ourselves an emerged nation despite the IMF increasing the Quota's or otherwise.

In fact, India can emerge as number one nation if its citizens leave personal gratification attitude and sacrifice for the nation. This soil has all the potential to be number one. The acknowledgement of US will help us globally, but to proof the same we have to work locally.

When I see (a). India is, still, a preferable place for foreign investment by many MNC (b) Growing number of technically qualified youths(acquisition of technical education) - means emergence to handle technological / information explosion (c). Forbes declared Mrs Sonia, a 9 th powerful women in the world (d). Newyork times quoted Mr. Manmohan singh as a powerful political leader (e). India is sustaining growth among all odds (f). One of the World middle class that is economically uplifted, is India (g). Of late, measures taken for emancipation of women, in all walk of life by Govt. (h). It is more visible, now, more and more Indians are preferred in Good offices world wide. What I feel from these inference, is that India is emerging in the recent times.

It would be more appropriate to acknowledge that India has emerged and would continue to emerge in future. This is most fascinating. We are here to witness progress in all sectors, never heard or seen in the past. Roads are being done up. Automobiles are on upbeat, economy has enabled most to shop around in fabulous Shopping complex. Hospitals are with outstanding facilities. Education is available in diversified disciplines and the list goes on. To summarize one of the powerful leaders of developed nations, Obama has found evidence that we are a power to reckon with, and offered a platter of goodies with their association. This is a proud moment and those who are pessimistic may have a reason to find fault. Because the goodies are not peculating downwards. Petrol and diesel prices are skyrocket-ting. Cost of living is dearer. Comforts are at non-affordable prices. All this is bound to be there with our GDP being ostensibly eroded with unscrupulous politicians, money launderers, bureaucrats, terrrorits, cheaters and musclemen. They hold 50 percent of it in black money which will never see the light of the day!

Dear Ayan, Expect you and I possess better understanding of ground realities than a statement merely meant to please for a few moments from Mr Obama. At best say thanks and continue as it would be foolhardy to actually starting to believe in such a statement. There is a long way to go....we are not even at halfway.
