Today's corporate world is full of business mode more than achievement mode, they need persons for their target time, but they give less attention towards improvement of personality, exposure, knowledge, welfare and so on.For their sake they offering a huge margin of money to complete a project

look, it varies person to person and time to time. Being a freshers if you expect a corporate feeling or facility from your company, then you will never going to get it. and after having a good experience you must expect a position where you can satisfied yourself, but it influence very often, so as soon as you feel that i am satisfied with the current position, next factor will force you to think much beyond what you have now.

it creates hurdles only when u start feeling that the job is monotonous and repetitive.in d case of sachin tendulkar, his passion for excelling is drivinjg him towards it. in case of job also, when u feel tat u need to grow in yur job and yur current job is not fulfillinjg that, then it becomes a hurdle

Its not a matter of satisfaction but it just a thinking about growth and our surrounding as well as its not a question to say yes or no. I think if you are satisfied with your job that means you want to safe play and going to way to limit your own growth. welcome the comments....

It's just an eye wash . When you are in a job , you work for some one. So how can you be satisfied by working for someone's wealth creation ? You are compelled to take up some assignment , you are paid for the contribution and that's it. Are you really passionate doing the job? Is it that you have never thought of quitting and starting something of your own?

@Srirang, I just forwarded my view on the fact, its not a judgmental that either you are satisfied or not with your current job but it's meant to whatever you want to do in prospective career. As me is concern, its all around satisfaction, not just a growth factor that's what I supposed to wanna in my career, in concern of future endeavors.

Hello Srirang, Yes, you are right!! it all depends upon attitudes & person's outlook But don't you think that it (Satisfaction with your current job) creates a hurdle to your hunger for growth ? As an example of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, He is still hungry for more runs after setting his own records in most of all categories. Regards Santosh

Job Satisfaction in Today's Corporate World-> is a very contradictory statement, since in today's corporate world MONEY speaks, and it draws the line...For instance an individual having a degree of technical engg. finally lands up in a BPO,or some other job...Ain't it true? Job Satisfaction is possible only in case the individual focusses more on achieving one's personal goal(may take a long time)but finally achieves it.One needs to focus on gaining experience, communication skills and soft skills in the present job...and finally its all about ATTITUDE.

Yes, I do agree with the comment of the S.V.Swamy, because the need hierarchy theory given by Maslow will prove to be the best if one is searching for the job satisfaction in the corporate world. But it is possible only when this theory is implemented with the minute details. Lets go for the first need i.e. PSYCHOLOGICAL NEED then SAFETY NEED then SOCIAL NEED then ESTEEM OR EGO NEED and then in the end SELF ACTUALIZATION NEED. Out of which mostly people reach upto first four needs but the last one is achieved by only those who are extraordinarily and mad to make some special contribution and achievement in their field.

job satisfaction is generated by the synergy born out of professional behaviour (amongst other things) between employer and employee. I dont see why, given that condition, job satisfaction is hard to get.

Job satisfaction comes from ur perception towards the job. If u could able to enjoy working, it amount to job satisfaction. Whatever may be your priorities, you must not try to fit into the wrong shoes. Select the job and organisation which gives you the pleasure of working. Change your perceptions towards the job ur currently performing to get satisfaction. I cant agree with Mr. Guruprasad's view point.

Job satisfaction comes when you enjoy your work. Robin sharma is an internationally renowned motivational expert and has written a lot of books on the same and he had written that when whatever you love, becomes your job, then you explore it and experiment with it and improve on it and thus results come automatically and job satisfaction comes. So i would suggest that one should chose a career that is of his interest and one will always excel in your performance and so will not be dissatisfied. Now as far as money or financial concern is there then i think one proves his credibility and importance to the organisation with performance and performance is related to your interest and thus leads to satisfaction. so job satisfaction is possible.

I think its possible now to be satisfied with job. Actually time has changed, now if you are working in an MNC, you have several links and a status/class. Salary is also much enough acording to the caliber of candidate, work environment is also very good. I agree with you also Mr. Guruprasad, we are not getting the equal amount according to our work done. But just think if you will do some business and hire some employees under you, Will you pay the full amount that they earn for you or just a part of that???

Ankit Goel, SSCS, AonHewitt Associates

Thanks for the referral, Pooja. Yes, it is possible to have job satisfaction. Guruprasad, job satisfaction does not arise only when you work for yourself. If that were true, there would have been no entrepreneurs who would have been having second thoughts about their ventures. Would you like doing something for yourself if there was no passion or liking for what you are doing? Job satisfaction happens when you are enjoying doing what you are doing, whether for yourself or for another employee. This is not measured only in terms of money, but in the feeling that one has achieved a target or contributed to the organisation or even if there has been some learning at a personal level. Keeping an open mind is essential, because once you get into the rut of doing something just because you have to, it loses it's meaning and thereby results in lack of satisfaction.
