With British PM David cameron visit to India, already the media channels were abuzz with content circulating that British government should return back the Kohinoor to India. But, the PM has clearly ruled out the return of the Kohinoor diamond to India, saying if such demands were agreed to, it would lead to empty rooms in British Museums.

http://www.worldinterestingfacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/most-expensive-diamonds-KOH-I-NOOR.jpg

with this it shows how British people have looted things from allover the world and have kept in their museums, but everything apart, atleast these things are safe in their possession and they do not intend to sell it anytime. But if something like Kohinoor was in India it would be a disaster, That rock is safer in the British Museum than here...imagine Politicians like Mayawati perching it on her fat head on her birthday or an MLA selling it in the black market..

So, what do you think people, Is Kohinoor safer in England than in India?? share your views on this....

I think it is safer in england than in India, as Indian system and Indian politicians would have sold in the first year or so or England have protected it for a long time, and anyways they do not intend to sell it off or anything like that so there should be no problem behind like where it is at the moment, if if was in India, I have already given you all the picture of state what it would be in.....

I do not understand why this debate in first place? And still I find colonial mentality among us who think that we can not keep Kohinoor in India. Come on my dear Indians have faith in yourself, world is coming to us reposing faith in India, and here we ourselves do not think that we can even store Kohinoor.

True Kavitha, atleast we pay 20 Pounds for the ticket and see the "Kohinoor". In Inida it will stored in one of the Swiss accounts. Hail the imperialists! They loot from other countries but atleast they are better off as they don't loot from own country-men.

We keep re-writing the past? There is no end to that. It is a waste of time and resources.

Yes Kavita it should be there in England. Of-course, our politicians as of now not that bad but the way they r selling our natural resources, if not stopped, they will happily sell the country for the money & greed. However, some argue that  the politicians r already started selling the country in the name of economic liberalization & mindless expansion & Reforms, resulting rich is becoming super rich & poor is becoming much poor.

There was an article on Kohinoor stating that it has associated with lot of bad luck & deliberately gifted to Britsh by then Ruler.  However, if it is a gifted out, it is not wise & bad manners to ask them to return it to India, unless it is return to us by their own will.

Apart from emotional burst, let us ask the Brit PM to impress upon our other genuine Indian Kohinoors' settledown with them to render their services in Education, Technology & Scientific field to enhance & update our knowledge and thereby improve life of Indians to Global Standard.

Appears like political speech know? Sorry Kavita this is the reality Lets live in present.

Yes it is safer in england.

What is to be achieved from restoring it to India? I am in agreement with the thought that many museums in many countries, including India would be broken up if things were to be returned to original owners.

The fight to get back Kohinoor is no different from the ayodhya dispute. there was mosque. before that there was the temple. before that? Where is the end to this kind of logic? We keep re-writing the past? There is no end to that. It is a waste of time and resources. Let us instead think of progress and how to take this country forward.

I am disagree tht India is not capable to keep Kohinoor safe. there is no doubt tht many politicians are doing very disgraceful but there r ppl in India who are very responsible and definitely take care of Indian heritages. and In the era where things r getting privatization, may be coming days any corporate leader will take the responsibility of mgmt of Indian monuments, heritages...

No, I don't think so.India is capable of taking care of their valuables on its own and they don't require any assistance from a country like England on whom you simply can not believe. Have you forgotten their sins? And why they are still keeping our valuables under their custody? Why they don't return? This shows their intentions.

Kohinoor is Indian heritage and must be returned to it. That is one thing. Are we serious in claiming our heritage?

Obviously NOT. WE want it back. Nonsense Motion. If England were 'safe' then we would not have desired independence. We can take care of our own belongings. It is frustrating to know that they've kept our Diamond... took it away rather.
