i would completely agree with you...many manufacturer claims that their products are superior than others but none of them can prove it and when they can't prove it they should not make false representations. and we as customers shold stop buying products from manufacturers making such false representations.

I wish those who support Lifebuoy's campaign, had observed it, thoroughly. The subtle message of it is emphasis on bodily hygiene, through usage of soap-washing (in this case with the ‘Lifebuoy’) rather than the neighborhood hygiene, through municipal & local community initiatives, by banning the air-borne virus. Misleading it is in so far as ignoring the whole picture and trying to cash-in on the overall ignorance of the general public.

i feel so because , in the name of publicity it is actually giving message of the imp. of self cleanliness. it claims that it protects from the virus under some standard situations like washing hands every time when one comes back to its house , etc. i think we must not critisize and must appreciate and get encourage to spread the same message. after all the best way tu keep the virus away from us is self cleanliness.

I would Just like to bring into the notice of my fellow mates that besides being air borne the H1N1 virus responsible for Swine flu, also spreads through the body contact [cough & sneezing], If you have paid attention recently the Ministry of Health has aired the public messages highlighting the fact that the spread of communicable diseases especially SWINE-FLU can be cheched if we wash our hands properly after touching any thing or going out in public. So even though no doubt HUL has used it to get a marketing mileage for itself, but still its a blessing in disguise to promote health & hygine.

Air borne is one of the ways it can be transferred. There are other ways it can be transferred too. The ad is aimed at one of those causes, where u might have come in contact with the virus by touching something which had those on it. It is towards that end this ad is aimed. If u had seen previous ads of lifebuoy, it did aim towards keeping ur environment clean.

The ad is more in the sense of creating social awareness. It is a social awareness creating ad. In the process if they have promoted their product as something which fights the germs it is not to be considered as unethical. They are not telling that you can fight swine flu only by using Lifebuoy. They are just telling that by using lifebuoy u can reduce ur chance of getting infected by swine flu. There is a difference in both of these statements and a major one at that

Every thing is fair in business, they just want to enhances there business by the means of swine flu its nothing wrong in that. But i think people should be aware abut swine flu. As like in the case of mask we know that BFE(Bacterial filter efficiency) mask can't protect us completely but then also we are using it so its like the same here .

Today everybody wants to make money on controversies or any hot topic, situations etc. whether it is 3 idiot movie, Jaswant Singh's book or any other thing. As said by Bindu and Tyagrajan that Lifebuoy is just trying to create awareness that by washing your hand regularly with lifebuoy you can prevent yourself from swine flue. It means advertisement conveys that people should take precaution. I have not seen the advertisement, on the basis of this listing it can be make out that nowhere in the advertisement it was mentioned that lifebuoy will cure swine flu. So I think there is nothing unethical or illegal about it. It is just their innovative idea to in cash on hot situation/topic and simultaneously spread awareness of living in hygienic environment.

Dear sir, What is there to tell it is illegal?.That advertisement shows simple logic thing i.e., Personnel Hygiene.Because nowadays people are not aware of cleanliness. My small question is, how a person is affected by disease?.The simple answer is he is not following Personal Hygiene rules. What the rules says, 1.We have to wash our hands before taking foods & after toilet,2.Cutting nails to avoid germs invasion,3.Daily take 2 times a bath,4.Use Hanky during sneezing to avoid spreading, etc., By wasing our hands we can easily prevent any disease, that is the concept of that Lifebuoy Ad.We should not hide from that, we have to fight against that for our survival.Media will reach each & every citizen mind. That's why they are showing in TV.we have to appreciate it.We have to educate each & every person.
